And as everyone got used to it, by the beginning of the season Minelab is sure to please its fans with fresh solutions. So 2012 was not without new products, and the release took place in May of this year. The flagship, indeed, was able to pleasantly surprise, the Russian-language interface alone is worth something. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and start reviewing the detector in order.

The device is a 2-section structure made of high-strength material, and consists of an upper unit and a lower rod, on which, in fact, the coil is located. It should be noted that the assembly of the CTX3030 detector will require some care from the user. There is a special risk on the lower bar, strictly according to which it is necessary to insert the bar into the upper assembly. In order not to lose sight of this moment, it would not be superfluous to refer to the instructions before assembling.

Speaking about the technical side of the device, there are no complaints at all: all fixing units are made at a very decent level. Confidently and 5+ perform their function and the lock of the lower rod, without any hint of play, and the lock of the electronics unit, which houses the power compartment, and the entire armrest assembly with its fastening mechanism. By the way, a typical problem for armrests has been eliminated - now it is made of very flexible plastic, which excludes the possibility of its breakage. The manufacturer also resolved the so-called "Explorer problem" associated with "pushing" the cord into the lower shaft - now the plug is extended with a special rigid tip.

Regarding the configuration, I immediately want to say a few words about charging for batteries: now there are four types of outlets for the unit - European, Asian, English and American - it would seem a trifle, but still nice. The battery itself, a 7.2 V lithium battery (by the way, includes a second similar device for 8 AA batteries), is attached to the electronics unit with 2 side latches. This entire structure, sealed with a rubber gasket, is waterproof.

Next to the battery is a wired headphone jack covered with a flap. For supporters wireless headphone this model of the metal detector is also attached and wireless module having a minimum weight. This device is attached to the waist belt. Powered by a built-in battery, rechargeable via a USB cable. The headphones remained the same - KOSS-30, but this does not prevent you from connecting to the module any other, more beloved pair of you.

The coil and the display are also connected to the main unit, which is mounted in the area of ​​the armrest on the upper unit, after which all this is successfully hidden in the section of the upper rod. A standard 11-inch coil is included in the kit. The manufacturer also provides for the use of coils of larger (17x13 inches) and smaller (6 inches) sizes.

It goes without saying that a complete design change entails changes and additional controls. In general, the detector is controlled by means of 11 buttons on the front panel and a pinpoint trigger device. The location of the pinpoint button has changed - from the usual front side it has moved to the back, taking the form of a trigger button, akin to Whites. This button, however, is rubberized and waterproof. By the way, the pinpoint system has also completely changed (more on this below). Next to the pinpoint button there is a USB plug covered with a waterproof cover. This device serves to connect the metal detector with personal computer, thanks to which a lot of new opportunities open up before the user, such as, for example, transferring GPS data from and to it, loading their own operating modes, discriminator masks, settings, adding photos and comments to them, etc.

The detector speaker is also located on the back side. The display module is located on the pistol grip. The display is liquid crystal, color, large (3.5 inches), well readable and moisture resistant. In principle, in small shallow water, you can conduct successful underwater searches, however, you should not get too carried away by immersing the device in water.
