But what to do if the web browser needs to be reinstalled or you want to change the version operating system, respectively, will you install all programs again?

In a previous article, I wrote about how to import (export) bookmarks into Opera. You can read it at the link.

For example, you want to start working in your favorite browser, not a laptop, but at the same time a lot of useful pages are saved in a web browser on a computer, etc. This means that it is necessary to make sure that the bookmarks on the laptop have the same links as on the computer.

Import

There are two ways to import the list of saved sites into Mozilla Firefox.

From another browser

In the first case, you can import them from another browser. To do this, click on the button in the form of a list in the upper right corner, and from the drop-down menu select the item "Show all …" or use the key combination Ctrl + Alt + B.

In the window that opens, in the top menu, click on the button "Import and backups"... Next, from the drop-down list, select the item "Import data from another browser".

A window opens in which, using a marker, you need to select the browser from which the import will be performed. We press the button "Next".

All browsers, which, like Mozila, are installed on your computer, will be shown here. If they also have sites that are important to you and you need to work with them in Firefox, then mark the required browser with a marker.

In the next window, a message will appear that the import was completed successfully. Click "Finish".

Now on Bookmark Bars will appear new folder"From Google chrome", Because I imported them from there. Clicking on it will open a list of sites that were previously saved in Chrome.

From file

From the top menu of the window that opens, select "Import and backups", and from the drop-down list, click on the item "Import ... from HTML file".

A window opens in which you need to select a file in html format, in which the bookmarks from the browser were saved. A similar HTML file can be saved: both on a computer, and on a USB flash drive, and in cloud storage... This is very convenient in cases where you want to transfer the addresses of important sites from computer to laptop, or from one computer to another. Select the selected file with the mouse and click "Open".

Some users prefer to store their credentials in the Firefox manager. If you have to log in many times a day, this storage option is very convenient. It is enough to enter the login and password from the site once. The browser will remember and will use them to provide the user with access to a personal account, that is, he will not have to re-fill the login fields. Plus, the Mazila Firefox manager saves forgetful users: if they have forgotten the key combination, then at any time you can see the saved passwords in Mozilla Firefox. And also export them, find out in which file they are located.

This article will show you how to manage authorization data in Firefox.

Thanks to the Firefox manager, you will not bother yourself with a set of logins and passwords to log into your personal pages in social networks, forums, blogs, online games and other web services. It has simple controls, allows you to quickly delete unnecessary account records, import / export and edit them. However, when using the manager, do not forget to take precautions to avoid identity theft. Set a master password for access to the records panel, to the backup file. These requirements are especially critical in cases where several people use one computer without setting up separate accounts.

People who are at least somehow familiar with Excel know how it can be used to quickly and easily handle bulky data tables. But, what if all the necessary information is on the page of a site? How to extract the much-needed data from internet to Excel?

include (TEMPLATEPATH. '/middle_article_ads.php');

In fact, there are several ways to do this intricate operation. I want to tell you about one of the most advanced, and most importantly - flexible method of extracting data from HTML (roughly speaking) into Excel tables.

I learned about this method quite recently on the pages of the searchenginejournal, for which I thank them, and to you - new useful information.

Recently there was a new Addon for FireFox - OutWit Hub, with which you can easily extract all the necessary information into Excel spreadsheets.

As I said above, this Addon is a very powerful and flexible tool for exporting data from FireFox to Excel. Using it, you can independently determine what exactly you want to extract.

1) When launched, this tool shows you different kinds of data that can be extracted from the current web page:

  • All images on the page
  • All links
  • Email addresses
  • Text page
  • Rss feeds found
  • Etc.

Below is an extracted list of pages from one of the sites.
All that was required for this was to go to the “Tools” menu in the browser (FireFox), select “Lists” and export this page to Excel. There is also an interesting “guess” option in the OutWit Hub. Click “guess” and see all the possible data gathered in a handy table:

2) Now let's try to extract only pictures in Excel. To do this, you need to go to a page containing a large number of pictures (photo). Then click on the “Tools” icon and then select “images”. Each line contains all the necessary information about the picture:

  • Thumbnail image
  • Source Image URL
  • The image itself
  • Alt Text Image
  • Image file names

3) "Scraping" the results of Google search.

Perhaps this example is the most striking confirmation of the entire power of this tool. The first thing to do is create your “Scraper” as follows:

Scraping the search results from Google.

By the way, you will find all the necessary information on the creation of "scrapers" here (information in English).

After creating “Scraper”, go to google search, enter a search phrase. After Google presents the search results to your attention, go to the “Tools” menu of your browser and select “Scraper” in it.

Voila! Agree, it's fast and very convenient. Well, I hope this information was helpful. What methods of exporting HTML to Excel do you know?
