Digital terrestrial television - latest technology encoding and transmission of audio and video signals through digital channels. The signal is transmitted in the DVB-T2 format, which allows you to watch a large number of TV channels for free even in the most remote settlements of Russia.
Today, residents of Moscow and the region have access to 30 channels, divided into three multiplexes with 10 programs each.
Frequencies of channels of digital television DVB-T2
Each of the three multiplexes is tuned to a different frequency. The first multiplex is broadcast at 546 MHz, the second at 498 MHz, and the third at 578 MHz. Therefore, to view all free software requires an all-wave or decimeter antenna operating in the private range of 470-860 MHz. In the Moscow region, it may be necessary to install an antenna with an amplifier, the capabilities of which can improve even the weakest signal coming from Ostankino or a repeater tower.
In the case when the antenna is connected to an outdated TV set, you will additionally need an external tuner operating in the DVB-T2 format.
To tune the programs of the Moscow grid on the TV, you need to search on 24, 30 and 34 channels, the first, second and third multiplexes, respectively.
List of terrestrial TV channels for 2019
The first group of programs, approved by the decree of the President of Russia, includes channels of federal significance. The second multiplex includes entertainment and information and educational programs. The third multiplex is broadcast in test mode only from the Ostankino tower (coverage radius up to 100 km), and the list of programs available to free viewing, may change up to their final approval.

List of terrestrial analogue channels Moscow and the region
Currently, 19 television broadcasts from Ostankino terrestrial channels in analog format. In the future, with a full transition to the digital broadcasting format, these channels will be disconnected.
In the capital and the suburbs, digital television operates with full coverage, provided by a large number of TV towers. However, they operate on a separate frequency and have different coverage, which complicates the antenna installation process.
However, the connection is easy and the interactive map of CETV (digital terrestrial TV), which is discussed below, helps in this.
Principle of operation
Unlike analogue broadcasting, digital terrestrial television is broadcast in packets of channels (multiplexes) at one frequency, transmitting a signal from a terrestrial TV tower. Currently, two multiplexes are open in Moscow, and the third is broadcasting in test mode.
For the majority of Moscow residents, the Ostankinskaya Tower remains the main television transmitter. However, due to a number of factors (relief, superdense buildings), not all areas receive a high quality signal from it.
For more reliable reception, the antenna is redirected to the repeater. Unlike the main TV tower, these towers transmit a weaker signal and only operate on a specific frequency. Therefore, viewing all multiplexes is possible if you receive a signal from several repeaters at once.
Interactive online map showing the coverage area of digital TV standard DVB-T2.
What is the CETV interactive map
It is an online service of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network.
Thanks to him, the user can find out important information on the work of terrestrial digital television:- How many multiplexes are in operation;
- In which direction and where are the broadcasting repeaters located;
- At what frequencies each channel package operates;
- Which TV and radio company serves the tower.
The last point is relevant, because an operator is assigned to each repeater, who is responsible for its maintenance and can provide information about the operation of digital TV.
What information can you find out
She has informative options, each of which will allow you to properly set up digital television:
- Location of repeaters... Each package of television channels is broadcast from different television towers for the reason that the first and second multiplexes were launched several years apart. They can be in different directions from the house.
- Frequency zones. Thanks to them, you can find out at what frequency there is a reliable signal reception. This is necessary when you are on the ground, to which the broadcasting from several towers reaches and the radiation from them is superimposed.
- TVK (physical channel number)... In mind digital TVs a specific frequency is assigned to each channel. To watch digital TV, just switch to the specified program number.
Also, using the interactive map, you can find out the nearest plans for expanding the CETV network. The gray tower icons present indicate a repeater under construction. The information is updated in real time and is relevant at the time of viewing the information.
How to use the interactive map to set up DTV
To do this, you need to use the interactive built-in service at the beginning of the article. It displays a map of the area and a control menu on the left. If the location is not automatically determined, you will need to enter the address of your residence in the field above the map.
By default, the item is selected. "Digital broadcasting".
An interactive online map with icons of TV towers of different colors will open in front of the user.
They show the location of the repeaters:- RTRS-1 (blue)
- RTRS-2 (red).
Which broadcast the first and second multiplex, respectively.
If there is only one tower nearby, the antenna should be directed so that it picks up the signal from both.
If a large number of TV towers are located nearby, the problem becomes more complicated. signals from each are superimposed, and not all of them will reach the antenna at a sufficient level. Radiation from only one of the repeaters will guarantee reliable reception.
To define it operating frequency, check the box on the left of the item "frequency zones".Operating area of the PTPC-1 TV package (the first MULTIPLEX)
An interactive online map of the distribution of digital terrestrial television will be revealed in different colors, each of which corresponds to the coverage of specific television towers.
Operating area of the PTPC-2 TV channel package (second MULTIPLEX)
They are marked with frequencies and channels, which are necessary for TV tuning.
When at the border zone
If the area of residence on the interactive map is indicated as a "border" between two frequency zones, you must focus on the towers. The antenna is directed to the nearest TV towers RTRS-1 and RTRS-2. The broadcast frequency can be viewed by clicking on the tower icon.
Why is there no 3rd multiplex on the interactive map
The third channel package has not yet been officially opened and is currently working only in test mode. It is broadcast only from the Ostankino tower and the signal is not redirected by repeaters, because they don't support him.
At the beginning of 2020, digital television DVB-T2 in the Moscow region expanded the coverage area as much as possible. All repeaters in the Moscow Region have launched the first multiplex, and the second package of free digital channels is expected to start broadcasting in the near future. The third multiplex is broadcast only by the main tower - Ostankino, but in remote areas, over 50 kilometers from Moscow, signal reception is uncertain. To determine the direction when installing the antenna, you need to click on the picture with the transmitters, go to the official, interactive map of the RTRS television and radio broadcasting network, find your locality and select the nearest transmitter. DVB-T2 digital television is broadcast in the decimeter range, frequencies can be found in the table at the bottom of the page.

Moscow region,
Moscow is one of the first cities in Russia where broadcasts began terrestrial television in digital format. Until 2015, Muscovites could receive a TV signal in the DVB-T format. Now, you can watch the on-air "digital" only if you have equipment that supports the DVB-T2 standard. The network of RTRS transmitting stations provides reception of the first 10 channels (1st multiplex) practically throughout the entire territory of the Moscow Region. Both multiplexes (20 channels) are broadcast in 2016 only from a few TV towers: the Ostankino TV tower and towers in the cities of Shatura, Alexandrov and Obninsk.
Frequency card
Traditionally, for the RTRS network, digital broadcasting in the Moscow region is divided into many single-frequency zones. This means that within each zone, multiplexes are broadcast on the same frequency. On the frequency map, you can indicate the broadcasting frequencies of the first multiplex in different parts of the Moscow region. To obtain information about the frequencies of the second multiplex, you can use the interactive digital TV map. With the help of a map, you can not only find out the frequency of the transmitter, but also the distance to it from a specific place and the direction of the antenna.
Coverage area of the second multiplex in Moscow
As mentioned above, as of 2016, all 20 channels were broadcast from only four repeaters. Understanding the desire of TV viewers to watch as many TV channels as possible, we have posted on the website the estimated coverage areas of TV towers, which both broadcast digital multiplex DVB-T2. Despite the fact that the accuracy of the calculation is quite high and takes into account the terrain, the actual picture of the coverage may differ from the calculated one. You can also use the service for building a height profile. With its help, you can determine the terrain from the TV tower to a specific receiving point with high accuracy.
Click on the map and it will open in a new window and high resolution
Third multiplex in Moscow
A feature of digital broadcasting in Moscow is the broadcast of the third multiplex of digital TV channels from January 15, 2015. Like the first two, the multiplex consists of ten DVB-T2 TV channels. From the channels "Sport 1", "Lifenews" and "Our Football" occupy permanent positions, and on the other seven channels numerous thematic projects are divided into the air. The third multiplex is also routed without using the system. conditional access and any pay-per-view. Thus, at the moment this is the only opportunity to watch "Our Football" completely free of charge. The channel package is broadcast only from the Ostankino TV tower on the 34th frequency channel.
