What is calibration in the navigator. How to improve GPS reception on Android: instructions for setting up a GPS signal

Good day, smotrovites, I would like to answer a little the questions that you ask most often, how to avoid certain errors in navigators.
So, let's look at what to do, where to click.

Common problems

1. The navigator writes "memory is full"

Reason: 1. RAM navigator is busy with unfinished applications and their temporary files.
Solution: 1. Press the RESET button. For most navigators, it is located on the back of the case or on the side wall from the side of the charging socket.

2. The navigator does not respond to the power button

Reason: 1. The battery is completely discharged 2. Physical damage switching mechanism.
Solution: 1. Put the navigator on charging (most navigators do not show signs of operability when the battery is charged less than 10%, after charging at least 10% or more, it will turn on automatically and show the charging indicator on the display) 2. In case of mechanical damage, you need to contact service center Firms of the manufacturer of the navigator.

3.Navigator does not respond to pressing the display

Reason: 1. Navigator is frozen 2. Physical damage touch screen.
Solution: 1. Press the RESET button. For most navigators, it is located on the back of the case or on the side wall from the side of the charging socket. 2. In case of mechanical damage, contact the service center of the manufacturer of the navigator.

4. When you press the touch display, it reacts in a different part of the screen

Reason: 1. The display calibration is out of order.
Solution: 1. Calibrate the display (in most navigators, the display calibration is started through the settings. After pressing the calibration button, White screen with a cross. You need to press strictly in the center of the cross, it will move around the screen until the display is calibrated. After calibration, it will count down 20 seconds until the settings are applied. Just tap anywhere on the screen to speed up the save)

5. A white screen appeared with a cross in the center

Cause: 1. Display calibration settings have been reset.
Solution: 2. Calibrate the display.

6. The sound is missing

Reason: 1. The volume of the navigator is reduced to minimum or turned off. 2. The FM transmitter is turned on 3. Physical damage to the speaker
Solution: 1. Go to settings and turn up the volume. 2. Go to the settings and turn off the FM transmitter (when the FM transmitter is on, the built-in speaker is turned off, and the sound is transmitted over the selected radio wave) 3. In case of mechanical damage, you need to contact the service center of the Navigator manufacturer.

7. When you press the navigation button, nothing happens or an error pops up

Reason: 1. The navigation program was damaged or deleted 2. The path settings were reset navigation software.
Solution: 1. Turn off the navigator, remove the memory card, turn on the navigator and wait 5-10 seconds (most navigators publish sound signal after turning on when the card is detected)

8. Navigator does not charge

Reason: 1. Defective Charger 2. The charging socket in the navigator is faulty. 3. The charger is not suitable.
Solution: 1. Check the fuse in the charger. 2. In case of mechanical damage, contact the service center of the Navigator manufacturer. 3. Purchase a charger from the same manufacturer (some navigators have a special pinout of the charging socket, in this case, a charger from other companies can harm the microcircuit)

9. How many programs can be put into the navigator without disturbing the correct operation.

Answer: The number of programs can be unlimited, especially if you put them on a memory card, the main thing is that they do not work simultaneously.

NAVITEL

1. Doesn't show location

Reason: 1. The GPS receiver is turned off or not detected. 2. Physical damage to the built-in GPS receiver
Solution: 1. Turn on or define the GPS receiver (the status of the satellites can be viewed in the menu by clicking on the "page" button. You can turn on the receiver from the cockpit mode, in the upper left corner. If the antenna icon is gray, it means it is off. he will offer him to turn it on.)

2. No maps found (how to set up a path)

Cause: No navigation charts path specified or no charts loaded.
Solution: go to the map settings and specify the path to the maps (by default, this is the "Maps" folder in the "NavitelContent" folder. If maps were uploaded to another directory, you must specify it.)

3. Does not allow scrolling of the map, returns to the place

Reason: Auto return is enabled
Solution: go to navigation settings, "scale". Uncheck the box "automatic scaling"

4. How to find the metro (cinema, hospital, restaurant, etc.)

Answer: in the search menu, click "nearest", then select the category of the object. If it was not possible to determine which category the object belongs to, click "all types"

IGO8

1. The program does not show the location

Reason: 1. GPS receiver is not connected 2. Physical damage to the GPS receiver.
Solution: 1. Go to the settings, select the item "GPS" on the second tab, then uncheck the box next to "GPS off." and click "autosearch" in the lower right corner. 2. In case of mechanical damage, you need to contact the service center of the manufacturer of the navigator.

2. How to see which maps are loaded into the program

Answer: Go to the settings, select the "information" item on the second tab, then click "cards" on the panel below.

3. The voice of prompts stutters

Cause: The voice package of the program conflicts with the device.
Solution: add the line in the file "SYS.TXT":
queue_length = 200
(the file is in the IGO8 folder), if the line is already there, just change the value.

SHTURMANN
1. How to find out the SIM card number
Answer: * 111 * 0887 #
2. How to find out your balance through the program
Answer: Go to settings, select SIM, the program will show the SIM card number and balance.

GARMIN

1. How to find a village if it is not in the city search

Answer: select "where", then click on "cities" and type the full name of the village. The program will show a list of all areas, it remains only to find the one you need.

2. How to find a street if it is not in the street search

Answer: We select "where", select the country, then the button "search in all cities" will appear, we drive in the name of the required street.

3. When turned on, it says that the card is blocked

Cause: failed update, not licensed cards.
Solution: recover the card key on the website

After purchasing any GPS navigator, even latest model, the screen calibration can go wrong at any time. This is a feature of this equipment. And many face it. But not everyone knows how to solve this problem.

Depending on the model and manufacturer, the navigator can be calibrated either independently or with the help of specialists.

How do I calibrate my navigator myself?

Several manipulations are required depending on the model:

  1. Hold the upper left corner with your finger until the device is completely turned off. If you hold the corner for 30 seconds, the calibration menu will appear. With the stylus, touch the black dots that appear in turn. Confirm execution and switch on the device.
  2. When turning off the navigator, keep your finger in the center of the screen in parallel, move the power lever to the right side and fix it until it is completely locked. Keep your finger in the center of the screen for 1 minute (until the menu for calibration appears). With the stylus, in turn, touch the appeared black dots, confirm the end of the procedure. In order to unlock the screen, just switch the power button to the middle.

If these options did not help to calibrate the GPS navigator, you need to contact a specialist. A professional in his field will launch "heavy artillery" special programs intended for this procedure. If they do not help to solve the problem, you will have to reflash operating system device.

Calibration of the navigator screen is necessary in the case when the displayed image on the display becomes indistinct, and often becomes blurry.

According to statistics released for sale GPS-navigators, almost half of them may have problems with screen calibration. Do not be afraid of this, each equipment has technical flaws. The main thing is that in case of a problem with the calibration of the navigator, it can be solved. Often, it is enough to perform one of the actions described above. Experts in electronic equipment will help solve not only the problem that has arisen, but also equip the device with new, convenient maps and other necessary software which will help the user to feel more confident on the road.

Don't you like that the GPS on your Android takes too long "searching and picking up satellites"? Positioning accuracy worse than 10 meters? Did you think "this GPS actually works like that"? Nothing like this. Your GPS can provide an accuracy of + -5 meters, ato and more accurate. And I will tell you how to achieve this. And no more "patches" or third-party and "gem" in the use of "GPS utilities accelerating the search for satellites and increasing accuracy." Everything you need is in your device. Simply "calibrations" are entered there by the manufacturer "mid-phone" - naturally, he will not calibrate each phone individually. And where is the manufacturer? In China, but you need to calibrate where you actually use it. The instructions below are collected by me from different sources in parts and checked, except for the "ensuring maximum accuracy" part, which I will check later and make an addition, but even without it, time " cold start "GPS, after restarting the phone, it was possible to bring it to less than 20 seconds, instead of 1-2 minutes before calibration. In this case, the capture of the first satellites takes place in less than 3-4 seconds, and " GPS capture"(localization by satellites, when the" GPS search "stops flashing and the body switches to work by satellites) - less than 10 seconds (sometimes up to 40k, but less often - depending on the accuracy of your smart clock and the visibility of satellites).
Impressions of the work of both methods, in order to decide which one you prefer, you can read here:. I personally recommend the "native GPS calibration method" (described below) - it gives the same results and is much preferable and easier to use for me.
It should be noted that with the help of the program described here:, the speed of activation from the "cold" state is even a little faster. but more hemeroic, and because of her "deep penetration into the system GPS Android", she can" knock down "the calibrations of his" native system ", which are described below. Plus everything that needs to be done with her help, before each turning on GPS makes launching using it really slower than the version outlined in this note.

Added on 30/08/2013. Before starting the calibration, review this note and follow the procedures described in it:. It is especially important if you have serious problems with GPS, such as "very poorly holding satellites" and "lock" "falls" at the slightest weakening of the signal, plus after that, GPS will "hold" more satellites at the same time, which will improve both stability and accuracy ... Without these procedures, I could not "bounce" the GPS under JB 4.1.1 Cink King. Then do the calibration according to the method. set out below in this note.

*italic the points necessary to achieve the theoretically possible accuracy in general are highlighted. Italic paragraphs may be omitted, this will slightly reduce the accuracy (actually 2 times), it will not affect the speed of the "cold start".
** Before the procedure, find out the code of the engineering menu of your device - you will need it.

  1. GPS accuracy, and especially the speed of "capture after a cold start", strongly depends on the accuracy of the time setting on your device. Usually, everyone has in the "Date and Time" settings, "synchronize the time over the network." I also stood. But as it turned out, the device uses to set the time cellular signal operator, which in some cases can give the time setting accuracy worse than + -several minutes, and in my case (Kiev, Life oparator) gave a difference from real time as much as 3 seconds. In general, feces, and not "time signals". There is also a possibility to "determine the time by GPS", but if you do not live in a village, then it will consume a lot of battery, but there will be little sense - neither in the apartment, nor in the subway, nor in the minibus, nor in the office ... Well, you get the idea.
Therefore, let us first concern ourselves with setting the most accurate possible time. For this I put free program ClockSync, from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.org.amip.ClockSync&hl=ru, you can also take it from here: http://w3bsit3-dns.com/forum/index. php? showtopic = 171610. You can also use the technique that I described here: - it does not require installation additional programs but requires manual editing of several system config files.
Next, we determine the reference server of the exact time, which we will use. It is important that it is as close to you as possible, and that the ping time before it is minimal. To begin with, the addresses of the "pools" are ua.pool.ntp.org for Ukraine, ru.pool.ntp.org for Russia. If you are in another country, look here: http://www.pool.ntp.org/ru/.
Now we launch the terminal, and in it the command "ping ua.pool.ntp.org", and look at the response time. We do this 10 times - each time it will access a random "pool" server, and usually another. Even for Ukraine, the "response" time for different servers ranges from 5 to 60ms (via landline), let alone Russia with its size. Accordingly, we write out the IP address of the server, the response time from which is minimal. We will use it.
Launch installed program ClockSync, Menu> Settings. The first item is "NTP server". We enter the selected IP address there. Next, check the "automatic synchronization" checkbox, then select "Interval". The smaller the interval, the more often synchronization will take place, and this is “a little bit of traffic and a lot of battery,” on the other hand, my device “goes away” in 3 hours by as much as 160-180 milliseconds ... I stopped at 3 hours for a moment. tick the "exact interval" - you can skip it - it will save the battery a little, I personally put it. battery consumption during synchronization will significantly decrease). We also set "determine the time zone",
Exit the settings menu, press "menu", and select "synchronize" - how long your device goes "past time" can be seen on the screen. Yes, in the settings menu in a day you can see how much the clock of your device is "in a hurry / late" per day (my Fly IQ 450 is 9.21 seconds per day).
PS automatic time synchronization is possible only on a "rooted" device. If yours is not rooted, there is in the program " manual mode", but the accuracy will not be the same.
Note - added later. There is also a second way to accurately synchronize time, without installing an additional program, I described it here:. After comparing the results, I chose this method, but it requires some editing of the configuration files.
It is also advisable, if you have a rooted device, to edit the /system/etc/gps.conf file. Namely, in the first line, after "NTP_SERVER =", replace the "default" specified there, with a more suitable one for your country - for example, for Ukraine at ua.pool.ntp.org, or even with a previously defined IP address, but it will be is less versatile and sometimes prone to failure if a particular server is down, so ua.pool.ntp.org is more versatile, but the IP address in this field can further speed up the initial cold start. Editing can be done using the "Root Explorer".
We figured it out over time. Further.
  2. We go to the phone settings. Location. We mark the items: "By network coordinates", "GPS satellites", "Auxiliary data", "AGPS", the rest is "to your liking." now go to the "EPO Settings" item. Turn off "EPO" during calibration. Everybody is here.
  3. Launching Google Earth , in the settings, we switch it to show the coordinates in the format of degrees and shares. We are looking for a nearby place where we will calibrate. This should be a fairly open area, such as an area. We select the point where we will stand during calibration (select the signs in order to become exactly at it later), move the cursor over it, and write down the displayed coordinates to the last sign. The preparation is over - let's go "into the field" :) with the phone.
  4. If you used p3- we become EXACTLY at the point that we have chosen earlier... We launch " root explorer", go to the / data / misc folder, delete the mtkgps.dat file. Load the latest AGPS data - for example, through the GPS Status program (menu> tools> AGPS Data> Load). Check the time, for example, with the ClockSync program (check it several times, look typical deviation, and then we press to synchronize - how to use the program and where to get it - see earlier in the article on time calibration). We go to the engineering menu, LocationBasedServices, select "GPS" in the menu, and press the "GPS" button (the inscription on it will change from OFF to ON). Go to "View". We are waiting for the "fix" to appear (the GPS indicator will stop blinking), and then at least 2 more minutes. Then click RefPosition, and in the windows that appear, enter the coordinates previously written out from Google Earth "for the point where you are calibrating (there will be zeros). Click OK. Go to the View screen again, and wait at least 2x after the" fix " minutes, preferably 5 minutes. We leave back to the engineering menu. If p3 was not performed, we simply choose any sufficiently open place. Taking out- do not even try to do the calibration on the balcony or "out of the window" - you will only make it worse.
  5. **** You can still check the correctness of the selection before calibration SIM card for AGPS - if your mobile operator"glitched", and there are two and two operators, then you can choose a less glitchy one, if "glitchy" was selected, it can significantly speed up the work of GPS, but and "revive" the "completely inoperative GPS" procedure is described at the very end of the note.
  6. We go to the "Engineering menu"(for my FLY IQ 450 and many Chinese clones, this is the code * # * # 3646633 # * # *, which we dial where you usually dial the phone number when you call, you may have a different one). Find "YGPS location" and run it. Hold the phone upright.
  7. Go to the Information tab. Press the button"Full".
  8. Go to the "Satellites" tab, we are waiting for at least 5 satellites to appear (it is better to have more - I had 11 of them when setting up), and after they "appear and turn green", we wait for at least 2 more minutes, holding the device motionless (it is possible longer - it will not be worse - only better ). This is the initial calibration. It took me 3 minutes, but for some devices, according to reviews, it can take up to half an hour.
  9. Go to Information ", press "Cold". Further, as in point 8. Repeat point 9 3 times. More is possible.
  10. Back to Information. Click "Warm". further as in clause 8. It is no longer necessary to repeat.
  11. Back to Information "... We press "Hot". Further, as in clause 8.
  12. If you followed point 3, go to the engineering menu, select the "LocationBasedService" item, go to the "View" tab (remember to activate GPS as described in paragraph 4), and wait until the maximum of satellites is determined. Minimum 7, better more (the more, the more accurate the calibration), and after the maximum is determined, we wait another 2 minutes. Then go to the tab GPS, and click "RefPosition". You will have two digits, from the one that you previously recorded using Google Earth, they will most likely differ in thousandths. Correct both to those that you wrote down earlier in p3. Click "OK". Now go to the GPS tab and wait 5 minutes while holding the phone motionless. Here in this place - the longer - the better. The GPS program, having received the real coordinates, compares them with those "obtained from it" and makes corrections. specifying them. Below in the window you will see the "process" counter and the data that changes from time to time.
  13. We exit the engineering menu, restart the phone.
  14. Everything. We rejoice at the smart and accurate GPS.
After a fully executed instruction, the actual positioning accuracy (calculated by google earth and not the one shown by the GPS itself) was ~ 2.3-2.5 meters (GPS showed an accuracy of 5-6 meters in the status), with 9 "visible" satellites, and 8 meters (GPS showed an accuracy of 10.5 meters in the status) with visible 7 satellites - satellites are moving and once at a time does not happen in the sense of day after day.

PS If you are also going to use the program described here: then please note that you need to calibrate after installing it. And if it is uninstalled - re-calibrate - it drops the calibration data during uninstallation, and GPS again starts "looking for satellites for several minutes." Loading its "acceleration" data LIKELY does not affect the calibration, but it also makes no sense - the difference in speed is "within the statistical error". But it seems that the real accuracy is a little better, with its freshly loaded data (by 20 percent, but also within the statistical error in essence). Also keep in mind that the downloaded data of the above program will quickly become outdated, and after a day or two, on the contrary, it will slow down the GPS and reduce the accuracy (compared to just a normally calibrated native using the method described in this article). Plus, I took it down nafik :) Bo, firstly, is not needed, and secondly, you can get "GPS that does not determine anything" with it, if you forgot to download new data. Even if you clicked the "reset downloaded data" button and do not start the program itself. At least once it happened to me - I didn't check the rake again.

PPS There are rumors on the net that "enabling EPO data" (specific GPS data for MTK chips), which gives some acceleration of the "cold start", reduces the number of "captured satellites". This is unlikely. The number of captured satellites is determined by their "number overhead at the moment" and the height above the horizon (in the city, those that are above the horizon are usually not visible). But even so, when calibrating, it is better to turn it off. And use it only if you are going to a place where the Internet may not be available. Then it will give you a real acceleration of the launch (it loads data for a month in advance). In a normal situation, it is better to use only AGPS - its data is fresh, and therefore more accurate, therefore, the "start" speed with it is typically higher.

PPPS Below is the "reference information" for those who got the device, with a completely inoperative GPS. It is worth checking it - the reason may be that you have something different from the following entered in the settings:

V engineering menu, in the LocationbasedService item, in the AGP tab S:

Enable A-GPS, MSB, User Profile, SLP Template - GOOGLE, supl.google.com, 7275, TLS Enable, RRLP, IMSI, K-Value must be enabled.
Horizontal Accuracy - 22, Vertical Accuracy - 0, Location Age - 0, Delay - 0. Location Estimate is selected.
********* Selecting a SIM card for AGPS
We go to the NET tab - select - click and look at the map (Map tab), there should appear the address at which you are located, or close to it. We do the same with. We compare which is more accurate to your real position, and select the preferred SIM on the AGPS tab.
On the AGPS tab, click
Yes, if any of the items listed in this PS differed from the settings of your device, or if you changed the SIM card to which you have AGPS attached, you need to calibrate again.

PS On the influence of clock accuracy on the GPS cold start time.

From the "inconvenient place" - a balcony, from above everything is covered with concrete, a courtyard-well - houses from 4 sides, to the sky "a piece from above", barely visible 4 satellites (barely then you can see 3, and then the 4th appears and disappears). the phone is calibrated according to the method described above (before calibration, there was no grip at all under these conditions). The clock "lags behind" by ~ 160ms (2 hours have passed since the clock was calibrated by the ClockSync program). Cold start time ~ 250-300 sec. After forced time calibration by ClockSync program - "cold start" time ~ 100 sec. However, these are conditions. in which GPS is usually not functional at all, but well illustrate the influence of clock accuracy on the "cold start" time.

PPS To force the loading of AGPS data, for example, if you are far from the place where it was downloaded - for example, you have gone 200 kilometers for fishing / rest, etc., and the AGPS data loaded at home has become irrelevant, which may adversely affect the "cold start" time.

You can use the GPS Status program from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2&hl=ru. Run this program. At the bottom left under the "coordinate circle" - the age of the AGPS data in hours. Click Menu> Tools> A-GPS Data. Then "download".

Hello! The screen calibration is out of order on the navigator. Choosing the navigator functions and entering the address is just agony! With one press, it knocks out 2-3 letters at once, and even not those that are needed ... There is no information in Russian about this problem ... On foreign forums I realized that some file seems to be responsible for the calibration, I don't have that ... Maybe erased? Hope for you.

Nobody knows?

i had a problem like this.
solved it as follows

1) You need to create a file in the blank with the name "calib.txt" before 8.051
Better than navkor 8.051 create a file "cal.txt" in the blank note
2) the given calibrations are required. You can find them out as follows>

A) do a reset
b) then press the start button and keep it pressed. After that, various information will appear on the screen. We need "Touchscreen calib. Data" For example, in my volume 720 (86 936 151 860) Copy these data onto a piece of paper or save it immediately in a blank note "cal.txt"

Then we change the numbers "936 86 860 151" the original ones were "86 936 151 860" between the numbers do not forget to make one space

After replacing, save the information and drop the created and file cal. txt in the root of the memory or SD card.

Calibration digits 936 86 indicate movement from left to right digits 860 151 indicate movement from top to bottom

Then we change the numbers in the room, decrease or increase until the desired result is reached. It may take a long time to adjust the numbers.

Well, I did it 10 times. He adjusted everything neatly, reduced the figure 860 to 410 and decreased the figure 151 to 70.

Thanks DOG7 for good advice... Although he did not help me. I had such data - 930 93 850 139, and if I reduced them it became worse. I put the numbers like yours, it seems better.
It would be nice if the owner of an identical device sent his cal.txt here for comparison.
But the main problem - from one press knocks out 2-3 letters left ... Maybe the screen is broken? Although I bought it new and it did not fall.

Unfortunately no one can send you cal.txt since this file is not present in normal working navigators. It is created independently if the problem is in the calibration.

For example, I showed you the original calibration numbers of my go 720. It works fine without the cal.txt file.

Before you start working with the cal.txt file, you first need to figure out where to move the touchscreen down left and right. Then change the numbers.

I had it so that if I press (DONE, Fertig), then nothing happens. If I pressed a little higher by 1 cm, then I fell on the * (Ready) button.

If you do not have any current problems, then I suppose most likely the display is covered.

I had one navigator tom tom go 730 where the display itself jumped over the buttons without pressing. I bought a new one.

Not display and touch.

Well, another option ... it's just stupid to disassemble the device and clean the screen
(Often fine dirt collects between the screen and the bezel, and there are similar byaks, like self-jumping of the menu, a few letters, etc.)
Of course I'm not sure, but it won't hurt to check

Unfortunately, cleaning the dirt between the screen and the bezel doesn't always help. Very rare cases.

Well, of course it's worth a try.

I was helped only by replacing the screen. Moreover, when I put the faulty screen on another Navi for testing, the fault passed along with the screen.

Is it okay if the part is faulty as it should or?

what if the diagnosis was wrong

bad luck...

Accordingly, everyone will have their own path, depending on the navkor available on board.

And then this is what.

============================================

Very important!
calibrations always change from the center of the screen to the outside edge in all four directions,
so if your touch center is not exactly in the center of the TFT screen, then you will never
get the correct calibration.
- first of all, you need to find the real touch center of the touch panel and correlate it with
center of the TFT display. This is done before you start calibrating the X and Y axes.
This makes the calibration much more predictable.
- Always calibrate only one axis.
Do not try to calibrate the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes at the same time.
- It must be understood that the discrepancy between the center of the touch panel and the center of the TFT display
will always be. It will never be for sure.
- Create a spreadsheet with header values: Min X, Max X, Min Y, Max Y
and write down all your completed steps in it. So you can see how accurate
calibration is in progress and you can roll back.
- Separately highlight the columns to align the left, middle and right of the display.
- It is possible that every time you change the calibration data in the "calib.txt" file you will have to do
Reset for the calibration data to take effect.
- In order for the calibration to be accurate, all calibration steps must be performed
a pen from a PDA, a match, a toothpick. But not with your finger or the cap of a fountain pen.

Axis data always goes from right to left (for X-axis) Min X ---> Max X
and from top to bottom (for Y-axis) Max Y ---> Min Y

The screen calibrations change when installing a newer or different version of Navcore.
Those. when installing each subsequent version, the calibration "leaves" a little in one or
the other side.
- Calibration can also "go away" if the Navcore version is not designed for your
devices.
- If you are sure that the Navcore version has not been changed on your navigator, there is
only the one that was originally at the time of purchase, it is possible that the calibration
display has been damaged due to equipment damage. Perhaps (but unlikely) will help
disassembling the navigator, and thoroughly cleaning the touch panel and that part of the case,
which is in direct contact with it.

Step 1a: Find the center of your touchpad.

Where is the center of my TFT display?
Open any input box where you can enter an address. The input screen should show the complete
a row of numbers above the alphabetic keyboard. Numbers from left to right: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0.
The center of your TFT display should be exactly on the border between the number "5" and the number "6".

Where is the real center of my touchpad?
Touch the screen on the number "1" and, while continuing to hold down the stylus, move it to the right, by
a number of numbers. In the place where the highlighted number changes, for example, from "6" to the number "7" just
and will be the real center of your touchpad. If up to the button "0" all the numbers are highlighted
uniformly, and the transitions between them are clearly carried out exactly between the buttons, then you
no need to make the X-axis touch center correction.

Probably, there may be such a situation when, when moving the pen to the edges of the display, the center
pen touches may no longer line up with the center of the button where the pen is in the middle
located. The center of touch seems to "float" towards the edge of the display. It feels like
what Touchpad"wider" than the TFT display.
In addition, the sensory center (or rather, the X axis) may be significantly shifted
to the right or left in relation to the center of the TFT display.

To get a real sensory center, it is necessary to "shorten" the length of the axis / axes.
- Note: Conditions are given for navcore 8.051 and higher (respectively, file name: cal.txt).
If Navcore is lower than 8.051, then the order of the ordinate axis values is different (vice versa) and is also used
another filename (calib.txt).

It is done like this:
- for example, the diagnostic screen contains the following values:
920 98 890 114

It is necessary to reduce the X-axis by "100".
- on the right side of the X-axis (from Min X), subtract 100 from 920.
920 - 100 = 820
- on the left side of the X-axis (to Max X), add 100 to 98.
98 + 100 + 198
That is, if you subtract a number (for example: 100) from Min X, then it must be added to
the Max X value.
In this way: 920 - 100 = 820 ---> 100 + 98 = 198
- If, after all these manipulations, the sensory center along the X axis in the end does not
will be found, then do not be afraid to subtract / add another 100 or 50, or 20, 10, 5,
until the approximate center is finally found.
By shortening or extending the "X" axis you are as usual computer monitor, expand or
narrow the display horizontally. Only in this case borders not clearly visible
with a glance, but only pressure-sensitive.

At this point, an analogy can also be drawn with a computer monitor.
Only invisible borders will already move left and right, exactly
like a normal visible picture on a conventional monitor.
- To find the Exact sensory center and also align it exactly with the center
The TFT display needs much finer trimming of the values.
Start at 40 or 20, and gradually move to 5 or 3.
But unlike the reduction of the axis, you will have to add or subtract values immediately.
to both highs. Those. add or subtract from Min X and Max X.
- For example, if the intended touch center is on the right half of the TFT display,
starting from the "6" button and further to the right, then add 20 to the already existing values of 820 and 198.
You should get: 820 + 20 = 840, and 198 + 20 = 218.
- If the intended touch center is on the left half of the TFT display, starting at
buttons "5" and further to the left, then you need to subtract 20 from the values 820 and 198.
You should get: 820 - 20 = 800, and 198 - 20 = 178.
Summary: add values - center is shifted to the right, subtract values - center
moves to the left.
When the touch center on the "X" axis is fine-tuned, it will be between
with the numeric buttons "5" and "6". Be sure to check by moving the pen (without leaving the screen),
that the center is between buttons 5 and 6, and only after that you can go to
fine tuning for compression or expansion of the X-axis.

Why do you need to fine-tune the compression or expansion of the "X" axis.
- If you touch the stylus between buttons 5 and 6, and start without lifting the stylus,
move it along the number buttons, for example - to the left, then you can see that
the closer your pen is to the edge of the display, the sooner (or later) it starts to stand out
the following numbers in the row. This means that the X-axis is shorter (or longer) than
she must be.
- In this case, it is necessary to read the methodology for the compression / expansion of the "X" axis again,
and start doing it, but using already small values: 20, 10, 5, 3.
Those. it is necessary to subtract from one value, and add to the other.
For example: 920 - 10 = 910 ---> 10 + 98 = 208
- Ideally, after all the calibrations, you should get this:
-If you press the rightmost edge of the "9" button, then the "0" button must be pressed.
-If you press the leftmost edge of the "2" button, then the "1" button must be pressed.
When you reach the ideal, then write the resulting values in a separate file.
And if ever the display calibration is broken again, then start a new one
setting using these new values.
=============================================================
If your navigator is out of alignment with the "Y" axis, then all of the above
the actions (for the X axis) must be repeated, but this time the values 890 and 114 will change.
Check the values in the Diagnostic Screen.
- Do not forget that for the "Y" axis the data changes from top to bottom: Max Y ---> Min Y
- Start looking for the exact center along the "Y" axis from the bottom, ie. changing the Min Y values,
as if "shifting" the screen from bottom to top.
And only then go to the Max Y values, as if "shifting" the screen from top to bottom.

There is nothing more useful on the internet, except for thinking that the display calibration data is written into memory (after a short and not too thorough test) only once, and cannot be changed. All adjustments are made only through an external file.
It is not known how they handle it with a guarantee in this case. Perhaps they are asked to send it to the factory, and the navigator is altered there.

After purchasing any GPS navigator, even the latest model, the screen calibration can get lost at any time.

A professional in his field will launch "heavy artillery", special programs designed for this procedure. If they do not help to solve the problem, you will have to reflash the operating system of the device.

Experts in electronic equipment will help solve not only the problem that has arisen, but also equip the device with new, convenient maps and other necessary software that will help the user to feel more confident on the road.
