In addition, after dialing the number and before showing the window with the requirement to enter the key, the usual menu appears for a very short period of time.

The point is to try to gradually move to the desired menu item with each such short show. This is clearly shown in the video at the end of the article.

Unfortunately, there are very few such phones left, and the phone lock often occurs on newer devices.

3. Playing with the battery

There is another interesting method, which, unfortunately, does not always work either.

It consists in waiting for the battery to start discharging and, when the corresponding notification appears, also click on it.

You will be taken to the battery status menu. So, you can get out of it, but not just on home screen, and go to the settings. And there you just have to turn off the key entry.

Note: On Android 6.0.1 and some others latest versions this method does not work for this operating system.

It is important not to do anything at all. Do not try to somehow drain the battery faster and do not connect the device to the computer.

All you can do all this time is just make new attempts to enter. correct key or remember your data from Google or iTunes.

4. Method for advanced

This method involves the use of a program known in the circles of geeks for Android called ADB.

It is so famous and harsh that an ordinary user will not even find a page where it can be downloaded. But we are kindly ready to provide you with a download link (here it is).

You will also need a special script called adbBLOCK GEST (here is the link to download it).

After that, you need to do the following:

• Unpack the downloaded archive from ADB to the root of the C drive or the one that is your system drive (this is very important, right here).
• Put the downloaded adbBLOCK GEST into the unpacked ADB folder and run it - double-click on the corresponding icon.
• Press the Enter button on the keyboard. Then the same thing again. You will see how the smartphone reboots. After that, you can enter absolutely any pattern and the device will be unlocked.

There is one caveat here.

This operation is possible only when USB debugging is enabled on the device. In most cases, when you lock the screen, it turns on automatically.

If so, you will succeed. And if not, unfortunately, even such a powerful thing as ADB will not help here. But it's worth trying, because the method is really good.

5. Reset device

Unfortunately, there are no other really working ways to reset the pattern.

Often, you just have to dump the entire device along with data, personal information, records and, in general, all the data that is in the smartphone's memory and on its flash drive.

• connect the device to the computer using the usual USB cable;
• transfer all photos, videos and music to removable media or to your computer;
• you can also simply copy the entire contents of the device memory, except for the "data" folder.

All data about progress in games and work in other programs are stored on Google or iTunes servers.

Therefore, all this will be restored immediately after resetting the device and downloading the applications you need from Google Play, App Store or other app stores.

And now let's go directly to the procedure for resetting the device.

There are two ways to do this - using the normal settings and using the factory settings.

To reset your device as the first option, you need to do the following:

• Go to settings and select "Restore and reset". It is usually at the very bottom.
• In the recovery and reset menu, find an item called "Factory data reset". Although in different models it can be named differently (for example, "Master Reset"). In any case, we need the item that will erase all data from the phone and return it to the default settings.
• Click on the "Erase everything" item or another button that will start deleting all data. Ready! Now it remains to wait for a complete reset.

On some versions of Android OS, developers remove the item concerning data recovery and erasure from the settings or simply hide it.

In such cases, you will have to use hardware settings. The hardest part here is getting access to them.

The point is that on different devices you need to press different buttons to see these same settings. And not always in the instructions there is at least some information about this.

Therefore, in order to access the hardware settings, try reading the instructions, looking for information regarding your model on the Internet.

You can also try one of these options:

• Pressing the volume down button and the power button at the same time;
• pressing the volume up button and the power button at the same time;
• Pressing both volume and power buttons at the same time;
• pressing and holding the power button until it vibrates, then pressing the volume up button until the hardware menu appears;
• clamping the volume rocker in the middle and the power button;
• Pressing the Home button, Volume Up button and Power button at the same time.

These are the most common options and it is likely that one of them will work on your device.

• In the menu that opens, you need to find the item "wipe data / factory reset" and click on it.

• Click on it and then click only Yes to confirm the reset of all settings. The choice here is done with the volume rocker and the power / home button.

After that, the dropping process will begin. All data, including information about the pattern, will be erased.

If you cannot reset the settings in the two ways described above, try entering one of these codes:

If all else fails, just take your device to a service center. Even if you have to pay a little money, it's still better than being left with a locked and useless smartphone.

Surely, in an attempt to protect your personal information on a smartphone or tablet, you forgot the combination of the graphic key and thought of only one thing: why? How do I reset my pattern?

Reset graphic lock on Android

After installing and running the ADB Run program, it has this screen.

As for the control, you just need to write a number and press Enter. Specifically, we are interested in item number 6: Unlock Gesture Key, and we will select it.

ADB Run: Unlock Gesture Key - Method # 1

The method involves deleting the gesture.key file from the / data / system folder (this file contains a combination of the graphic key). After the file is deleted, restart the device and enter a new unlock pattern.

ADB Run: Unlock Gesture Key - Method # 2

It involves clearing the data in the system.db file, which is located in the / data / system folder.
Did not work out? Let's delete it manually!

Method 1: run on PC command line
