Photos samsung s7. Mobile phone Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - "Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is almost a perfect smartphone! A lot of photos taken with a smartphone. What is the difference between the galaxy s7 edge and s7. The nuances of the galaxy s7 edge camera. " Dimensions: size, weight and feel of

In February 2016, the new flagship Galaxy S7 was shown. Among other advantages, manufacturers have focused on the camera of the novelty, claiming to be the best in the world among mobile devices... One of the proprietary chips was announced to support DualPixel technology, which allows you to focus almost instantly.

The 2016 flagship is not the only new focusing mechanism. Itself software has undergone changes, having received advanced settings. The matrix is also different from the sensors in other smartphones. Let's try to learn about all the features of the photographic part and its capabilities in order.

S7 does not use standard application shooting from Android 6, and its own, which is part of the TouchWiz shell. It differs from the stock one in richer settings and a redesigned interface. The exact same application was used in the S6, S6 Edge and Note 5. At the top of the window there are buttons for settings, choosing the resolution and aspect ratio of the photo, switches for the flash and timer, HDR and a menu for choosing effects. Below is the focus / shutter button, photo / video and main / front camera switches, an icon for accessing the photo gallery.

When choosing modes, you can use preset scenarios: auto, pro, selective focus, panoramic photo, animation, the ability to shoot stream directly in youtube, slow motion slowmo, virtual 360-degree shooting, food shooting and accelerated video shooting.

In the "Pro" mode, it becomes available manual setting... You can independently control white balance, ISO value, contrast, brightness, and shutter speed.

A distinctive feature of the smartphone, which brings it closer to full-fledged cameras, is the ability to save photos in RAW and JPG at the same time. "Raw" data from the matrix can be processed in Photoshop or another professional editor. This allows you to adjust colors, sharpness, white balance, and other image parameters in a relaxed environment on your computer to achieve the best possible image quality.

Specifications

The Galaxy S7 photomodule is based on a matrix with a resolution of 12 MP. Depending on the batch of release and modification (and there are about 20 of them, for different markets and networks), you can use your own Bright Cell S5K2L1 module or Sony Exmor IMX260. They have identical characteristics, and, very likely, are variations of the same model produced in different enterprises.

Despite its modest 12MP resolution by 2016 standards, the S7 camera has some advantages. First of all, these are the dimensions of the matrix: 1 / 2.5 "- usually this diagonal corresponds to 16 MP. Due to the large matrix, the pixel was increased to 1.4 microns (instead of the standard 1.12 microns in the S6). In addition, each of the They have their own phase-detection AF sensor, a technology called Dual Pixel, previously only used in DSLRs.

Optics in S7 also changed in positive side... The aperture (aperture) of the lens was improved from f / 1.9 to f / 1.7. The stabilization system provides protection against trembling hands. During the day, it is practically of no use (the frame is taken with an instant exposure), but in the evening the system helps to increase the clarity. The flash looks somehow modest: it consists of one diode emitting neutral white light.

There is practically no difference in the quality of photos from different matrices (Samsung and Sony) when viewed on a monitor. If you take a photo under the same conditions for different Galaxy versions S7, comparison shows the smallest difference. With the naked eye, it is only noticeable that the Samsung sensor maintains the color temperature a little better, and the shots from Sony slightly go into warm shades in the evening (the shots are slightly yellow). But the Japanese matrix shows a slightly higher quality detail, which is noticeable when the scale is increased to 100%. Below are two pictures for two smartphones Samsung Galaxy S7 with different matrices: at the top is a matrix from Samsung, at the bottom is from Sony.

How the camera shoots in different modes

Daytime landscape photography

S7 shows excellent results in daytime photography. It delivers an acceptable level of detail even though the pixel count is reduced. With the same zoom scale, the photos from the S7 look more "angular" than those from the S6, but the contours of objects do not have the same blur as in the predecessor. It's hard to tell right away which of the two evils is the lesser, but the S7 footage looks more attractive in this comparison.

Snapshot in good conditions

The dynamic range can be called rich (by the standards of mobile technology), in the bright sun the smartphone does not overexpose the sky, but it also does not shade the darker areas of the photo. But it is not ideal if there are enough bright details and light tones in the frame - signs of flare appear. For example, the glow of the sun, even partially caught in the lens, blinds the corner of the frame, filling it with white. This is nit-picking (not shooting against the sun is one of the first rules of a beginner photographer), but the fact remains.

Shot with a focus on the sky

A shot with the sun in the frame

Shot with focus on the tree

Daytime photography isn't the Galaxy S7's trump card at all. And this is not because the matrix is bad (no, it shoots perfectly). It's just a smartphone camera, but nothing more. It will not work to examine every leaf of a tree standing a couple of tens of meters away. Photos from some Meizu, Xiaomi for $ 200, or Samsung for $ 250 will look the same on the monitor screen. Excellent lighting conditions allow any more or less normal matrix to unfold, keeping competition to a minimum.

Portraits and close-ups

Not so long ago, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Pro cameraphone, equipped with two matrices. At the presentation, the emphasis was on the magnificent bokeh effect (blurring the background and clear focus in the foreground). The smartphone was even compared to a professional Canon DSLR for 4 thousand dollars to emphasize the "coolness" of the novelty. So, S7 can do the same without any second matrix. The close focus works very clearly, the portrait photo is his strong point... Blurring out the background beautifully, emphasizing the contrast is not a problem at all.

Focus on the subject up close and blur the background

When shooting portraits from a couple of meters, the sensor's capabilities are enough to take in most of the reflected light. In such conditions, the sensor practically does not lather the skin on the face and conveys its details. If you use a tripod and set a slower shutter speed, the shots are great. With close-up shooting and portraits, the Samsung Galaxy S7 does an excellent job. In this mode, the benefits become more noticeable.

Shooting at dusk

In low light conditions (100-1000 Lux, such as cloudy weather or in a building), the advantages of the camera become more evident. A decent sensor size picks up more light, making the details of objects appear clearer. The aforementioned flash, despite only one LED, does its job in good faith. The objects in the foreground are highlighted with high quality, their contours are smooth and quite distinguishable.

If you do not shoot with automatic switching on flash, turning it off, the near details become less clear. But this only applies to weak room lighting. At dusk, the lack of sunshine does not interfere. Here lies the main advantage of the Samsung Galaxy S7 over cheaper devices. They are already starting to smear the contours, applying noise reduction, and the hero of the review still allows you to highlight the “ladders” of pixels in the photo - by-effect from reduced resolution. That is, if the noise suppression system is connected, it is only superficially, without distorting the details.

When trying to photograph a neighboring house at dusk, the camera gives out "something similar to real outlines." "Soap" appears, the clarity leaves much to be desired, but competitors cannot do this either, demonstrating incomprehensible spots when the photo approaches, under which it is difficult to guess the house. Here the score is a C with a slight minus, against the background of full-fledged devices, but 5 - in comparison with smartphones.

Night shooting

You can get a high-quality shot at night only with a flash, and at close range. No matter how they glorify the Samsung S7 camera, but this is just a smartphone, albeit not cheap. Even a tripod and a long exposure won't help you to shoot the starry sky. A tiny (by the standards of DSLRs) matrix is beyond its power. In general, in auto mode at night, the camera is not useful, as in comparison with any other smartphone. You need a photo in the dark - only a DSLR will help.

Another thing is a photo with a flash of nearby elements. The device will be able to photograph the company sitting by the fire. It will even (a clear defense) maintain some kind of balance. The flame will not turn into an incomprehensible yellow spot, but will remain visible, but the faces, at the same time, will not turn into lifeless wax figures. So there is also a positive mark.

On the Samsung Galaxy S7, you can get a tolerable shot in the light of street lights. The camera will also capture a sunset or dawn, and it will even be able to convey many shades.

Frontalka

In addition to the main matrix, the Samsung S7 also has a good front camera. It is also not easy: at a resolution of 5 MP, the aperture is also f / 1.7 (like the main one). This is very good for a front camera. Due to the good light transmittance, selfies are very detailed. Someone will not even like it: if you do not apply effects, the device "spoils" the portrait. At an ultra-short distance (half a meter), in sunlight, every pimple, every mole becomes visible.

The background of the front camera is slightly soapy (the focus is fixed, and it is tuned specifically to the foreground), but within reason. Something like this was filmed by the main matrix of the iPhone 4 in similar conditions, even if we do not take into account the lack of autofocus from the hero of the review. The selfie camera also supports automatic HDR.

Filming

In terms of video shooting, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is also good. Supports 4K video recording at 30 FPS. But such a frame rate per second is provided only in good lighting conditions, the frequency decreases at dusk.

The camcorder performs much better when shooting in FullHD. Frame rates of 60 FPS are sufficient for fluidity, and an optical image stabilizer smooths out shake when shooting handheld. The sound is recorded in stereo, thanks to the presence of a second microphone. This is not Dolby Digital, but against the background of Xiaomi with two microphones - heaven and earth.

If you reduce the resolution to HD 720p, you can do slow motion at 240 FPS. When viewed, such clips will play 8 times slower than filmed. This is not enough to capture the flapping of an insect's wing (this requires at least 1000 FPS), but slower phenomena and processes can be viewed in detail.

Are there any drawbacks to the camera, as for a smartphone

Main disadvantages Samsung cameras Galaxy S7 (versus full size photos) are highlighted. This lack of detail, low light sensitivity at night, imperfect dynamic range. Shooting video in 4K is noticeably inferior to video cameras (the same GoPro budget versions). But what if you compare with smartphones, which is the Samsung Galaxy S7?

  • Dynamic range... There are no shortcomings here: modestly against the background of DSLRs (in which the sun remains orange), but cool against the background of mobile phones. Only a few can do the same.
  • Detailing... There are no advantages here anymore. On a summer day, S7 can lose to a more budgetary matrix of 16 MP (due to a smaller number of pixels), and in the evening it can still watch "soap" or "ladder".
  • Focusing... Samsung S7 has no downsides here, definitely. The focus is fast, the contrast between the central composition and the periphery is emphasized perfectly, everyone would be so.
  • Evening photography... In this regard, the camera of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is able to outperform its rivals. The enlarged matrix of pixels and aperture is better at catching light, there are no downsides.
  • Portrait... And there are no shortcomings in this nomination. Not a DSLR, but among smartphones, only the Nokia 808 (which was discontinued 100 years ago) could do something better. This concerns both the main camera and the front camera (in which only models with the Sony IMX179 at 8 MP can compete with the S7).

Thus, we can state: the only thing where the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera may not be the best is the detailing of photos taken in bright daylight. Here, even a $ 200 Chinese with 16 MP can match. The only difference is that the percentage of successful photos from the S7 will be higher than that of the Chinese.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and its larger sibling, the S7 Edge, were shown last night at a presentation at the MWC. New items are expected to be very interesting, stylish, high quality, with an improved camera and so on. We already have first impressions, results in AnTuTu and sample photos from the built-in camera.

Instead of a complete set, here is a photo of the box from under newest flagship... In the meantime, we move on to the main part of our mini-review of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Design

Evolution according to Samsung. We saw nothing new. The surfaces at both the front and back are now slightly rounded. The result is the now fashionable 2.5D effect. By the way, if in 2016 you release a smartphone without such glasses, then I don't even know ... what are you counting on?

Bright, pearlescent, iridescent surfaces of both devices are very easily soiled. In the demo zone, next to each pair of new products, there was a specially trained person with a soft cloth in service. Whenever possible, he wiped the apparatus. You will do the same when you buy yourself one of the devices.

In the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the screen remains curved on both sides. It is still quite difficult to use it in everyday life, since the display on the sides is easily pressed with your fingers or palm. It is especially difficult with this during shooting - some kind of photography mode is constantly activated. Holding your smartphone without touching the screen is problematic.

There will be four color options available: gold, white, silver and black. We make allowances for very high glossiness, so that the colors are not present in their pure form.

Hardware Chips

There are a few things to note here.

First, the S7 is back with moisture and dust protection. IP68 standard. Previously, only the S5 could boast of this function, and then, with the proviso that the device is protected from splashes. Now representatives of the company have officially announced that the smartphone can be immersed in water for 30 minutes to a depth of 1.5 meters and nothing will happen to it.

Secondly, no you USB Type-C... On the one hand, why is it needed at all, since USB 3.0 is still an extremely rare phenomenon. On the other hand, many manufacturers have already released devices with support for the new connector, and the main innovator in the face of Samsung is hesitating.

Third is the return of Micro SD cards. Users around the world resented their absence, and Koreans fortunately took this moment into account. The card is installed in the SIM card slot instead of one of the "SIM cards". Both, by the way, have a Nano SIM form factor.

Fourth, it's time to look at technical Samsung specifications Galaxy S7(model SM-G930):

  • RAM 4 GB
  • 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixels (576 ppi)

  • navigation: GPS, A-GPS

The younger version differs from the older one uncritically. In fact, these are two identical devices, just one has a smaller screen, while the other has a larger one and is curved at the edges.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Specifications(model SM-G935) are as follows:

For games

Something has been done for gambling addicts as well. No, I'm not talking about the monstrous performance, which has increased by 30 percent compared to its predecessor, although it, of course, plays an important role. Here's the thing. Samsung decided to create additional tools for players who play a lot, actively share their achievements in social networks etc.

To do this, smartphones are preinstalled with the Game launcher software node, which catalogs all toys in one place, allows you to chop off all notifications during gaming, is responsible for recording video from the device's screen, takes screenshots, and so on.

Software chips

The smartphone screen is now always on. More precisely, when not lying face down, or in a pocket, or in a bag. In other moments, it will always contain the most necessary information (time, date, calendar, missed notifications). However, the appearance of the constantly glowing elements can be customized deeply enough, up to the establishment of various pictures.

In addition, the device interface, including wallpapers, screensavers and application icons, can be changed to your liking. All of this is now official and available on Samsung's respective app store.

For Edge, it became possible to install up to 9 side panels with shortcuts, folders, contacts and more useful information... Up to 10 items can be set on each panel, so you may not have to climb the menu.

Samsung Galaxy S7 camera

The main advantage of the new flagships is, of course, the camera. The main module here is 12 megapixels. A little, it would seem, but after you look at the sample photos from the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge camera, you will understand that the number of megapixels is completely unimportant.

And below are examples of shots from a regular Samsung Galaxy S7 camera. They are in no way inferior to the camera of a curved brother.

You can download all photos in original resolution in one archive using the link.

In the new generation of smartphones, pixels have become larger (1.4 microns), and the aperture has dropped to an impressive f / 1.7. Thus, the photos will be even brighter, and their quality will be improved.

In addition, a special mode called Motion Panorama has appeared. The bottom line is this. You are taking a panoramic shot. Everything is as usual: we move the smartphone lens from left to right. After that, it turns out, as it were, a photograph, by moving it to the left or right, you can view what happened while you were shooting the picture. Such is the tricky response from Koreans to Apple's Live Photos.

The file is played only on the smartphone. When transferring it to another device, the device offers to save it either in a photo or in a video.

Accessories

There are a lot of them. These are all kinds of covers (transparent and not so, flips, batteries, etc.), and new portable batteries, and wireless chargers etc.

We will now focus on only one accessory called Lens Cover. There are two versions in nature. Each differs in the supplied lens: something like a “telephoto lens” or a wide-angle lens. They are only available for S7 Edge. At least at the stand there were no models for the usual "Essemerka".

First, examples of photos and videos from one lens.

Here are some examples of content captured with the S7 Edge camera already with a wide-angle lens.

Outcome

The novelties turned out to be very, very interesting. No revolution happened, but no one expected it. Performance has grown, an already very decent camera has improved, new buns have appeared - these are the updated Galaxy S smartphones.

The devices will be on sale from March 11. Where and for what money - these questions have not yet been answered. I doubt that it is worth waiting for something different from the cost of the iPhone 6S in the US, and, as a reminder, it is $ 649 and $ 749 for the 6S and 6S Plus, respectively. In Europe, and as a result, in our country, these are 749 and 849, only this time in euros.

The Korean company has done a good job of making new smartphone Galaxy S7 Edge has become even more sophisticated and attractive in relation to the previous model -. If we consider it as a whole, the novelty has retained all the "chips" of the previous device (including the curved shape of the display, which now looks no less original).

So, manufacturers continued to develop the smartphone and took into account what the users would like. The model again received support for memory cards, and the capacity of its battery increased significantly. You can easily save videos and photos to the card. The user will love the quality of the photos that the Galaxy S7 takes with the main camera (it focuses instantly, including when shooting videos of moving objects). The smartphone takes high-quality photographs even in low light.

Pleasant surprises for the user

The consumer has been waiting for the time autonomous work the device has been maximized. During the development of Samsung in the Galaxy S7, this was achieved: the battery was made larger - 3000 mAh. The power consumption of the processor and software has also undergone a change, and as a result, it became almost impossible to empty the non-removable battery during the day. The only exception is one option for using a smartphone - to play modern 3D titles (then the charge will last only 5 hours). But if, for example, you watch a two-hour movie, then only about 14% of the charge will be spent.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S7 charges pretty quickly, especially when using the stock charger, which fills an empty battery in just an hour and a half. If you need to recharge your smartphone by 50%, then half an hour will be enough for this. From USB port MacBook Pro our new product will be powered for less than two hours.

The smartphone screen is always on, and even when it is locked, notifications and the current time are visible on the display.

Obviously, the Galaxy S7 is one of the fastest-performing smartphones of 2016.

Elegant design

It should be said that the camera of the new device now does not "rise" above the rear plane of the body (it has acquired smoother contours). In general, the model has become more rounded, and this impression is enhanced by the bulge of the “3D glass” (Gorilla Glass 4). A smartphone like this with a streamlined screen is just a pleasure to hold in your hands. The device has become thicker by a millimeter, slightly decreasing its dimensions in length and width. Its weight has increased by 14g, and now it looks more solid and dense. Weighing 157 g, the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE are as follows: 72.6 x 150.9 x 7.7 mm.

The diagonal of the display is measured by 5.5 inches, and its a high resolution provides subtle color transitions. Users should like wide corners review and a huge resource of brightness. It is advisable to pay attention to the factor that readability on the screen is preserved in direct sunlight (for this there is an automatic adjustment that works very accurately). In addition, all images and videos appear three-dimensional. For the screen, you can select well-known modes - "Main", "Adaptive display", "Movie AMOLED" and "Photo AMOLED".

The aluminum edging frame is preserved (its width is small and equal to about 2.5–3 mm), the volume keys are located on the left side, and the power button is on the right. The familiar Samsung logo can be seen under the speaker. At the bottom there are touch keys - "back" and "menu", and in the center there is a home key without the usual chrome edging, and a fingerprint scanner is built into it. It's nice that the arrangement of the buttons suits both left-handers and right-handers. Describing the external design of the model, we will name three color options - austere black, golden (platinum) and silver (titanium).

Useful functions

It is also worth mentioning the protection of the Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE against dust and moisture (IP68 standard). Note that there are no plugs on the ports here, since moisture protection is provided by the design features and the material itself from which the model is made. Consumers will appreciate such a gift, because the new smartphone can be used in the rain (perhaps, for the sake of experiment, even place the device in water, after which it is advisable to turn it off after all to dry the ports).

The model is equipped with the following sensors: gyroscope, accelerometer, heart rate, light, proximity sensors, as well as geomagnetic, Hall sensor, barometer, fingerprint scanner. RAM- 4 GB, permanent memory - 32 GB. Smartphone works with operating system Android 6.0.1 and equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with A-GPS, NFC, ANT +, Glonass.

I must also say about the built-in speaker of the Galaxy S7: it produces sound of no less quality than small tablets such as the iPad Mini or smartphones equipped with front-facing stereo speakers. The set of the device includes an adapter designed for fast charging(It supports 2A amperage at 5V and 1.67A at 9V). In addition, the kit includes a micro-USB cable, as well as a USB adapter (with its help you can move data from device to device - Smart Switch function). So, if you are looking for a quality smartphone, then the Galaxy S7 is an excellent candidate for such an acquisition.

Official Galaxy price S7 Edge in Russia - 59,990 rubles.

Open the left navigation bar in the camera app. To do this, click on the arrow in the upper left corner (if the smartphone is in a horizontal position) or in the upper right corner (in a vertical position). Here you will find a huge number of settings to explore and experiment with. We will discuss many of them below. Also tap on "Mode" on the lower right side of the screen to see the available shooting modes.

2. View your photos

When you click on the camera settings icon we mentioned in the first tip, find “View Photos” that you can enable. Just like on DSLRs or compact cameras, this feature allows you to quickly see how your shot came out. This function is useful in order not to store a million unnecessary photos on your device.

3. Shoot like a pro

By choosing "Mode", you can select the "Pro" option to turn your smartphone into professional camera with manual control of settings. The Pro mode is a paradise for the photography enthusiast. When enabled, the main camera screen is configured to show the second navigation settings on top of the main screen of the camera application, plus changes the settings in the normal navigation bar. You can manually adjust the autofocus, change the white balance, change the optical image stabilization (in auto ISO is 1250), adjust the speed of pictures and compensate for exposure. The navbar has been redesigned to add some context sensitive functionality. You can choose between multi-point AF or center AF, three metering modes (center, matrix and spot). You can also select RAW shooting in the settings menu.

4.CunderstandRAW

You can enable RAW shooting using the camera settings menu. With this option enabled, the S7 automatically saves each photo in two types - uncompressed and unprocessed RAW .DNG and JPG files. To view RAW images, you need an additional software tool such as Adobe Lightroom. Such files cannot be viewed on the device itself, and they can quickly take up precious memory. However, with RAW files You will get so much information about the image that many poorly taken photos can be easily saved with a graphics editor.

5. Manual shutter speed adjustment (especially in low light conditions)

In Pro mode, manual adjustments can be especially helpful in minimizing motion blur. And that's why. Smartphone cameras often slow down their shutter speed by 1 / 5-1 / 15 seconds in low light conditions to maximize the amount of incoming light. If you and your subject are still, you can get a good image, but often these photos are blurry. If you manually set the speed to between 1 / 30-1 / 60, you have a better chance of getting a clear image. This tip will be even more helpful if you are shooting in RAW, as these images have more data and can be adjusted to compensate for poor exposure.

6. Turn on the lines

Turn on "Gridlines" in the camera settings to get two options for the image. The first allows you to use Gridlines to follow the Rule of Three. It means that you have to place the object at the intersection of the grid, since the viewer's eye will focus on them first.

The second option is for Instagram lovers, with almost invisible square areas formed by superimposed lines. You can view the resulting image in full, or you can choose a square photo optimized for a social network.

7. View your compositions

While you are aligning the image to get the primary attention of the beholder of your subject, keep an eye on what is in the background. Avoid the appearance of foreign objects, tangled wires, cutlery, or even people passing at the wrong moment. Feel free to move items around or ask those you are filming to move to the right place. Clearing the background and optimizing the composition will help your subject fit perfectly into the frame and make the image itself more convincing.

8. Lock exposure and focus

For more immersive photos, lock the exposure and focus by pressing and holding on your point of focus. This allows you to correct the composition while you adjust the exposure. In Pro mode, you can use manual focus and fine-tuning for macro photography, as well as features that add versatility to the camera.

9. Take advantage ofHDRAuto

When HDR Auto is turned on, you get all the benefits of high-definition images. dynamic range... One click automatically takes the best of the brightest and darkest parts of the scene to create a balanced image. If the subject is backlit, this is a great way to enhance the image without using a flash.

10. Disable flash

For some shots, the flash may actually be required. But in most cases, a flash on a smartphone is not the right solution and very often it gives too much light for a given environment. This is especially true if the distance to the subject is small, for example, when photographing food. The Galaxy S7 has a relatively wide open f / 1.7 lens, which means it can handle low light conditions without the need for flash. It's better than even the Apple iPhone 6s / 6s Plus, which has f / 2.2 lenses.

11. Experiment with focus and background

Photo enthusiasts have long exploited the lens' ability to capture images with a sharply focused subject and blurred backgrounds. Samsung makes it possible to take advantage of this option, offering to take a picture, choosing a focus point and changing the background. To select this feature, press Mode and select Selective Focus.

12. Avoid digital zoom

You should avoid using digital zoom images in a smartphone: it has the effect of cropping a photo, so that when you zoom in, clarity and detail are lost. If there is a need for digital zoom, use your fingers to zoom in or the volume buttons on the S7 when taking pictures. If you cannot do without magnification, use the optional external lens case. It has a thread on back cover to attach a wide-angle or telephoto lens. At about $ 120, the dual external lens makes the photo upscaling process the most viable.

13. Take photos in motion

14. Create a moving panorama

15. Capture motion with burst mode

While burst mode is interesting on other devices as well, the S7 does it quite comfortably thanks to its incredibly fast autofocus. Press and hold the volume up button to start burst shooting. Keep in mind that this mode works only in good lighting conditions, it will not work in a dark room.

16. Take photos and videos at the same time

Sometimes while shooting a video, you notice something that you would like to keep in the photo. Now you can take a photo of this frame without interrupting the video by clicking on the round camera button located under the video stop button.

17.InChoose your photo aspect ratio and resolution

On the left navigation panel, next to your image in the lower part of it, above the gear sign, you will find an icon with the aspect ratio and photo resolution. Samsung allows you to choose from six preset options representing two photo resolutions and three aspect ratios: 4: 3 (35mm standard photography), 16: 9 widescreen, and 1: 1 square. The latter is intended for those who like to upload their photos to Instagram.

Changing video resolution is also hidden in the settings menu. By default, they are 1,920 by 1080 at 30fps, so if you want to get UHD 4K 3840 by 2160 video, you need to change that in the settings.

18. Take easy selfies and choose your own selfie

If you want to take a selfie, you will need to switch to the front camera. Click "Mode" in the lower right corner to select one of the 4 options available for front camera... We have already mentioned these shooting mode options for changing photo modes. rear camera... A wide selfie allows you to take a panorama from left to right. But in low light conditions you can end up with a blurry image. You can use the front flash, but this can affect the final color, so you need to experiment in different environments with the flash on and off. To take a selfie, place your finger on the heart rate monitor on the back or hold your smartphone upright. You can also choose one of the effects if you want to make your selfies extraordinary. For example, you can customize the shape of your face and eyes. The effects can be subtle, but they have a beneficial effect on the final photo.

19. Organize a live broadcast

In the age of live video, you can use your smartphone to broadcast using the rear or front camera. Press the "Mode" button to select this function and arrange for direct posting of your content to YouTube.

20. Create video collages

The video collage function can be used with the front and rear cameras. It allows you to create short videos (3,6,9 or 12 seconds) that can be easily shared on social media. You can choose from 10 layouts. The final result can be saved and published as an MP4 file. The settings for this mode are located on the left navigation bar, where the timer button becomes contextual, showing the length and aspect ratio options in the layout.

21. Use a timer

The timer button can be customized according to your needs. Preset options for 2, 5 and 10 seconds, as well as 3 shots in a row. The last option is a guarantee that at least in one of the photos everyone will be with open eyes and look at the camera, or at least in its direction.

22. Use a virtual shot to get a 360-degree view

Well, not quite 360 degrees, but pretty close to that. Virtual shooting mode is available for the rear and front cameras and allows you to rotate the subject, which creates a vivid image of the selected subject. The effect obtained will depend on how long you take a panoramic photo around the subject.

23. Choose your filters

If you want to add effects while shooting, then with the S7 it is very easy to do it. Click Effect at the top of the left navigation pane and choose one of the nine default filters. Other effects can be downloaded additionally. If you are in Pro mode, you get a different set of effects, but they are not available in the left navigation pane, but in the upper part of the Pro mode right navigation pane.

24. Use buttons

For quick access to the camera, go to the settings menu of the camera application to enable quick access by double-clicking on the Home button. This is one of the most convenient ways turning on the camera on smartphones that we have seen. You can take pictures by pressing the volume up and down buttons. Thus, you can take pictures much faster, catching good moments. If you want to change the settings of these keys, for example, to start shooting video or use them to zoom the image, you can change this in the camera settings.

25. Use built-in editing tools

Gallery for S7 has many editing tools built into the system. Some of them are quite standard, such as contrast, brightness and color tone variation. But there are others, in particular, the photo cropping tool allows you to crop out a part of a photo and move it to a different environment. I especially liked the drawing tool that allows you to take notes on images.

Especially for photography and video shooting. It so happened historically that among photographers and amateur photographers (and, indeed, most of the world's population), Apple smartphones have become very popular. But if earlier Apple was creating truly unique and functional products, then after getting to know the Galaxy S7 closely, I seriously thought about changing my phone.

I’ll say right away: I myself am also an apple fan, I started with ancient desktops, then there was the MacBook Pro, then the Air. The family has an iPad and iPad mini, and the iPhones themselves are five for three. Therefore, if it were not for a close acquaintance with the latest generation of Galaxy, the question of choosing the next smartphone would not have stood for me. True, it is not worth it now: I confess, but I already bought myself an S7. However, enough background, I'll tell you about everything in order.

Backlight, completely auto mode filming

I remember how five or six years ago, when the first system cameras were just appearing, they were called “DSLR killers”. When I tested the new Samsung smartphone and its camera, the evidence of the final death of compacts became undeniable for me. Moreover, as far as I know, in the amateur segment, some manufacturers of interchangeable-lens cameras are already feeling the pressure of smartphones. And this is not surprising at all.

The first thing I would like to say is an increase in the pixel compared to its predecessor, and not in the number of megapixels, as it happens most often! The second is the aperture of F1.7 (on the iPhone F2.2), and the third is the use of Dual Pixel technology, which, thanks to the use of a dual photodiode, makes focusing as fast and accurate as possible. In addition, in harsh shooting conditions, you can use the Pro-mode by manually changing the settings for shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance.

So, here are the main advantages because of which I bought myself Galaxy smartphone S7 (without any discounts and bonuses, at the regular market price):

  1. As I said, the main plus for me is the camera. It's really cool (just don't compare the quality with full-length DSLRs)!
  2. The next most important item is dust and moisture resistance (up to 30 minutes of work at a depth of 1.5 meters).
  3. The ability to use two SIM cards or one SIM card and mini SD (up to 200 GB).
  4. A special case with a bayonet mount for Samsung branded lenses (wide-angle and x2-zoom) will soon appear. And with a high probability of the development of this line.
  5. Using your smartphone as a platform for glasses virtual reality Gear VR.

Besides, powerful processor, fully customizable desktop tabs, slightly larger and significantly higher quality than the iPhone display, the presence of a built-in image stabilizer, more capacious battery and, according to the manufacturer, more durable glass.

Well, now about the cons: the only thing that I found was a soiled case, on which fingerprints remain. You can fix it by buying a cover.

Bokeh appears in the photo in a strange way. Previously it was believed that this is a sign of high-aperture lenses.

Further, I invite everyone to draw independent conclusions based on the photographs received. And in order to finally dispel the doubts of photographers, I will say that pictures can be easily printed in 45 × 30 cm format, and after certain manipulations in the editor, prints 60 × 40 cm look pretty decent.60 × 40 cm from a smartphone! Samsung Galaxy S7; ISO-200; F / 1.7; 1 / 13c; 4 mm.
