Equipment setup. Router Acorp WR300N: connection and configuration Setting up a connection and Wi-Fi network

Let's consider how to set up an Acorp router that lacks support wireless network"802.11 N". We are talking about models of the "WR-G" family, where the Wi-Fi network operates on a protocol that is less widespread now. It's called "802.11 G".

Actually, in a wireless network of the previous standard, you can get an acceptable speed of data exchange with a router. For this, the condition must be met: the number of subscribers of such a network must remain as low as possible. If there is one subscriber using Wi-Fi, you can get 13-14 Megabits per second of the "one-way" exchange rate.

With this speed, it would be possible to watch IPTV. But only "standard" firmware for Acorp WR-G (WR-G 2.0, WR-G plus) does not provide such luxury. There is no broadcast of multicast packets and cannot be enabled.

Router Acorp WR-G

To configure such a router, you need to connect it to a computer (the LAN connector is connected to a network card). What do you need next? Now let's take a closer look.

Prerequisites Before Configuring

Connecting the router to the computer

Router power supply - turn on last. First, connect a patch cord (reversible network cable) to any LAN port, 1 to 4. The second side is that the patch cord must "reach" the PC's network card.

Rear panel of the router

You need to connect the provider's cable to the WAN connector. And the network card in the computer is configured as follows:

Wired Ethernet parameters

That is, here you need to set a static address (ending in 1-253), and a standard mask. The address of the router, as you can see, is equal to the following value: 192.168.1.254 (set it as "Default gateway").

If everything is done as indicated above, you can turn on the power of the router.

Go to the web interface

In a browser on a computer - you need to open the address: 192.168.1.254. What is done a minute after turning on the router. Login and password for authorization - empty values... The start tab will look like this:

Router status tab

Any router produced by Acorp, including the "classic" WR-G model, allows you to configure it using a wizard. What we should take advantage of at the initial stage.

The WR-G + router is endowed with a different hardware "filling" and a new graphical interface(our instruction will not work). Note: for WR-G +, the address ends with one (not 254), login and password - the word "admin".

It is important to know that if on specified address- there is nothing, it means that the device has already been configured. In this case, after waiting a minute after turning it on, press the reset button on the router (holding it for 10-12 seconds).

Setting up a connection and Wi-Fi network

Initial setup using the wizard

On the start tab, find the second menu item from the top: "Setup Wizard". Click on this icon (and further - on the button "Next").

Following the tabs "Wizards", select the required value and click "Next":

Configuration Wizard Tabs

  1. First, you need to select the "Gateway" mode
  2. On the second tab - do not change anything
  3. On the next one too
  4. On the fourth tab, we must configure the Internet connection (we will leave it as it is, DHCP)
  5. Configure Wi-Fi networks: Specify "AP" mode, set the network name (SSID).

Channel number - must be selected manually:

Wi-Fi setup (setup wizard)

We left the wireless network unencrypted. Press "Finished" and wait for the Wi-Fi network to appear.

Setting up an Internet connection

Let's look at how to set up a PPtP connection. At the same time, it will show how the MAC address is cloned.

Connection setup

Go to the "TCP / IP ..." tab -> "WAN Interface". We select the required type of connection. In the case of using dynamic addresses, leave the "Enable Dynamic Mode" checkbox.

Next, we set the connection parameters (name or address of the VPN server, username and password of the subscriber). To increase the speed of work, you can "explicitly" set DNS. It is impossible to clone the MAC address, but you can specify its value (execute if required).

Finally, click "Apply Changes". The connection will automatically appear in a minute. Happy routing!

In the film, they set up an Acorp router equipped with an ADSL module (W422G).

The interface is also "ancient", you can see:

Saving configuration settings

Acorp long time was the leader in the supply of OEM devices to operators and providers in Russia. Wireless routers of this company, in our market, are represented by two 100-megabit models: this is the WR300N, and the WR150N (it differs from the first only in the lower wi-fi speed). Let's consider the "older" model WR300N. In fact, the WR-N series routers are endowed with everything you need to create home network functions, and only setting up an Acorp router may seem somewhat "unusual" (perhaps this is the main and only drawback). Let's take a closer look.

Configuration is carried out through the web interface. Connect the router with the patch cord (supplied with the device) to network card PC. In this case, any port is used, except for the WAN. Then, turn on the power of the router.

The PC network card, before configuration, must be in the "automatic" IP-address and DNS mode:

To do this, you set up properties local connection(as in the picture above).

Configuring the acorp router

Configure the PC card as above. After turning on the power of the router, you need to wait 2-3 minutes. Then, open any browser. In the address bar - you type: 192.168.1.1

You will be asked to enter Login and Password (Admin and Admin are suitable). Any Acorp router, modem, that is, everything that has a web interface - allows you to log in with such a password.

Configuring Internet Connection (DHCP)

Go to the first tab (Operation Mode):

Make sure AP-Gateway is selected (ie, router mode). If not - select, click "Apply". Go to "Internet Settings" (tab "WAN Setup"):

Configure as in the picture (type - DHCP, MTU - auto, Enable NAT - yes). Click "Apply". Now, the connection to your ISP is created automatically.

To save all settings, you go to the "Administration" -section, on last tab("Save and Reboot"):

If you skip this step, at the next boot, the router will “forget” the settings we made. This completes the configuration of the router for the "DHCP" connection.

Internet connection setup (PPPoE with dynamic address)

Follow all of the above (except for the last step to save the settings). Then, go to the "VPN Setup" tab (found in "Internet Settings"):

Inside the first (upper) block, basic information about the connection is entered (Username, Password). Do not forget to select "client PPPoE" in the first line, and the WAN port in the second.

Bottom block - adjust as shown (all checkboxes are “on”, except for the first two). This completes the setup. Click Apply and Connect.

Do not forget, when exiting the interface, the settings made here - save (section "Administration", the last tab).

Note: setting "under PPPoE + static IP" is the same, only on the "WAN Setup" tab, you select the "static" IP mode (and, set the IP address).

We have fully reviewed how to configure the Acorp router to connect to your provider.

Cloning a MAC address

If you intend to change the hardware MAC address “visible” on the “WAN” port, there are several steps to take.

Administration section

Go to the "Administration" section, then - to the tab of system commands. The command text (i.e., executable code) will be as follows:

  • nvram_set 2860 CHECKMAC NO
  • # this is on the first line, then:
  • nvram_set 2860 WAN_MAC_ADDR 00: AA: BB: CC: DD: EE
  • # instead of 00: AA ... substitute "your" MAC
  • Click "Apply". Save the settings.

The universal wifi router Acorp WR300N includes an access point operating in the "2x2" mode (2 antennas and 2 transmitters, up to 300Mbps). Wi-fi setup- absolutely "standard" (performed on one tab), and the choice of transmitter power (provided here) - can be very useful.

Go to the "Basic" tab, the "Wireless Settings" section. The first checkbox is set to "Enabled" (that is, to "enable" the wi-fi network):

Come up with a name for your network (SSID). Set the mode (b / g or n, better - "mixed"). Maximum speed connections, reachable in "n-only". The rest can be left as default. Click "Apply".

Operating Mode -> Greenfield can be used only if there are no other access points nearby (or - there are, but they also have Greenfield enabled).

Click on the "Advanced" tab.

Here, the required "power" is selected (as a percentage of the maximum). Set the value, click "Apply".

Customization wifi router acorp to work the network "without encryption", and that's it. Enable encryption (set the key and select the mode) - you can then, on the "Security" tab:

Before exiting the interface, save the settings (by going to the “Save and Reboot” tab, to the “Administration” section).

Optional: watching IP-TV on a wireless network

There is a problem: as soon as the IP-TV player is turned on on one of the PCs in the local network, the rest of the devices work slower. Each Akorp router (300N, 300NU and 150N) solves this problem in the following way: the traffic of IP-TV packets can be artificially reduced.

Go to the "Advanced" tab, to the "Wireless Settings" section. In the lower block, we see:

Here, you need to select "Multicast TX Rate". Value - it is better to set to "half" (or - "two thirds") of the average values bandwidth wi-fi connections... Click "Apply". Save the settings.

Note: if you select "0", "multicast" traffic is completely absent (watching IP-TV via wi-fi is not possible).
