The presence of a printer in the arsenal of home appliances, along with a computer, is becoming almost the norm today. For the most part, only ordinary word documents are printed on home printers, and directly from Microsoft Word and in its "natural" form - that is, the pages are displayed sequentially one after another and exactly one page is located on each sheet. However, with equal success, a home printer can be used to print ordinary documents in a more complex form (for example, in the form of brochures or booklets), as well as for printing large-format documents and photographs or printed projects formed on their basis, such as calendars and postcards. This is not difficult to do, although you will have to acquire a specialized application that would allow you to quickly and effortlessly get high-quality prints. How? Depends on the tasks facing the user, in the foreshortening of which we will consider software solutions.
Printing pictures
If you are an amateur photographer and often resort to printing photographs, then you should get a specialized utility - with the help of such utilities, printing pictures in a given format can be much easier and faster. To do this, you just need to indicate the photos (they may even be in different sources), determine the size of the frames and the option for their placement on the sheet, choosing the desired template, if necessary, correct the placement of photos on the layout, swapping them and cropping them and sending them to print. Moreover, sometimes in such solutions it is possible not only to print pictures according to a template, but also to create collages, posters, calendars, postcards, etc. on their basis, and in a matter of minutes. As an example of such solutions, we stopped at paid programs ACD FotoSlate, ArcSoft PhotoPrinter, Pics Print, PhotoCool, Photo Print Pilot and PrintStation and free MultiPrint. The most functional of them is ACD FotoSlate, which stands out for a huge number of built-in templates (there are 450 of them) and, in fact, is a cross between a utility for printing pictures and a multi-purpose program for preparing a wide variety of printing projects. All other solutions are more focused on printing photos in popular formats (9x12, 10x14, 10x15, 13x18, 15x20, etc.), although some of them also have a certain set of more complex templates (and not those in which pictures are simply placed based on the specified photo format). When using this option, click the "Start a project wizard" button and answer the wizard's questions in good faith. Here, at first, you will need to select the desired type of project (photo album, postcard, calendar, etc.), and then specify the page orientation and design style.
Then the necessary images are loaded into the template of interest, manually placing them in the designated areas. In this case, images can be added to the project from folders hard disk, scanners and digital cameras. Images inserted into the template can be easily rotated, flipped, cropped and improved by color correction, sharpening, or vice versa, blurring. It is possible to impose sepia effects on images and carry out color coloration, as well as add a border and / or frame, and borders and frames can be added immediately to all images of the project, which significantly speeds up its preparation.
Well, if the type of the template is not entirely satisfactory, then it is not a problem to correct it - just choose from context menu the "Adjust Page" command and make the necessary edits in the template editor that opens. For example, move existing areas, change their size, delete some of them, or, conversely, add new areas of the desired shape, as well as embed text and / or calendar objects.
Several more possibilities when creating a project based on the included editable templates (as many as 450!). In this case, when starting the program, click on the "Create a new project wizard" button or create a new project using the File> New> "Create custom project" command. In both cases, a window for choosing a page style will open, where you will need to select suitable option... Further technology here will be completely identical to the one discussed above - that is, you will need to add images to the project and place them in the designated areas, adjusting if necessary.
If none of the existing templates suits you in principle, then you can create a template "from scratch" through the Page Designer module (Designer button) - it will take a little longer, but you can completely define it yourself external structure template and design of all pages of the project. There are no tricks here - select the Designer> "Create Page" command, in the window that opens, click the New button, set the page parameters, and then embed areas for snapshots of the desired shape and size on it and place them on the page to your liking. At the end of the work, the template is saved in the template library, and in the future it can be used in the preparation of printed projects.
Projects can be created in the Paper Saver mode, which automatically nests as many images as possible on each sheet, thereby reducing the cost of expensive photo paper. Then, on the "Preview & Print" tab, the desired template is selected, as well as the printer and the brand of photo paper, resulting in images being automatically placed. If necessary, the pictures can be swapped, but changing their size and position on the sheet in this method is not provided.
Using the built-in editing tools, it is easy to carry out simple transformations on the images involved in the project, the list of which includes cropping, rotating, flipping, scaling, automatic color correction and red-eye removal. It is also provided for adding borders to photographs (although the list of borders is small), carrying out color coloration and introducing arbitrary text fragments into projects.
It is also possible to develop projects from scratch (project type "Photo Collage"), when the number of pictures on a sheet of paper, their size and position are determined by the user. However, no really interesting collages can be created here due to the limited list of borders and the lack of masks, which is usually necessary to combine a series of pictures into collages. In other words, the only plus this method project preparation - installation of atypical photo sizes. The preparation of projects in the mode of saving paper is also provided.
Printed projects are usually immediately printed, however, if necessary, they can be saved in the program's own format or exported to popular graphic formats (BMP, JPG, TIFF, GIF, PCX, etc.).

The commercial version costs $ 39.5. There are several ways to create projects in Pics Print. You can use the wizard. To do this, just select the File> "New Document" command, click on the Wizard button and specify the project type. Images for a project can be taken from folders on your hard drive, or imported from a camera or scanner.
The resulting project can be edited. In terms of editing pictures (the Items> Edit command), they can be rotated, aligned (in relation to each other or the page) and cropped, it is also possible to get rid of the red-eye effect, carry out color correction and sharpening.
Images can be supplemented with borders - the number of built-in border options is small, but can be expanded with custom borders. The page (menu Page) is allowed to change the orientation, format, margins, etc. It is also allowed to embed text and calendar objects on pages.
Another way to create a project is from a template. Then, after starting the project preparation process (File> "New Document" command), select the Templates option and specify the project type.
And then perform the same operations that were described above, so we did not see any fundamental difference between these two methods of creating printed projects, and it is not clear why it was necessary to come up with not one, but two methods of preparation.
It is also possible to create projects from scratch (command File> "New Document", button "Blank Layout"). In this case, all the necessary images are added to the project sequentially, and their size and position are manually adjusted, which is not allowed with other methods of creating a project. Finished printed projects can be immediately printed, saved as templates, exported to images in popular graphic formats or to PDF format.

LibreOffice
It is a freely redistributable analogue of Microsoft Office. I don't know why everyone hasn't switched to LibreOffice (or OpenOffice) until now. Probably, Microsoft has something like that (attractive) :).

3. Working with the document and editing text

4. How to save text
After you have created your document, you can save it. To do this, find in the upper left corner the button that brings up the menu, and in this menu select Save as and any suitable format like Word document:

- where to save the file (I usually choose Desktop,
- how to name the file (enter any suitable name),
- and the file format (I do not change it, I leave it by default).
Ready! This file will now appear on your computer desktop.
You can do whatever you want with this document. For example, upload to a USB flash drive, send by e-mail, open for further editing or delete.
By the way, if you are working on a large document, I recommend that you make intermediate saves. And the more often the better.
5. How to upload a text file to a USB flash drive
Everything is very simple.
1. Insert the USB stick into your computer.
2. On your desktop, find and open My computer(or simply A computer).
3. In the window that opens, you should see Removable drive, click on it 2 times:

4. Now find our text file, we saved it with you in the previous paragraph on the desktop. Click on it with the RIGHT mouse button, and in the menu that appears, select Copy:

6. How to print a document on a printer
Let's say you have a printer, it is already connected to your computer and configured properly. I will not talk about connecting a printer and settings now, since this is a topic for a separate article.
But if you already have everything set up, you can print the document literally in 2 clicks. But first, make sure the printer is turned on and has required amount paper.
