Notes in Apple devices are good because they are multifunctional and sync with all gadgets. But it does not do without failures and errors, tk. do not forget that the work is organized through the not very stable iCloud. Therefore, we will analyze the most well-known ways to solve problems with syncing notes on iOS and macOS.

Wait for the download to finish
The first and simplest method, which many people forget about, is to check the end of synchronization. This is true when using the application on a Mac computer.

I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, but if you do not wait for the data to load and start writing a note, then it simply may not be saved. I myself came across this and could not understand for a long time what the problem was. Therefore, be sure to wait until the synchronization is complete and only then start writing a note.

Check if notes are stored on Apple server
For notes to appear on all devices, you need to turn off local storage. To do this, go to "Settings" -> "Notes" and turn off the corresponding toggle switch there. After that, the records are synchronized with iCloud and should appear on all devices.

Make sure you are signed in to iCloud on all devices
It's also worth checking if you're signed in to iCloud. Although in modern systems Apple is demanding its use everywhere, hardly anyone will forget to activate it. But, nevertheless, we look in the settings to see if the login is complete. We repeat this procedure for all devices.

Is there the same iCloud account everywhere?
It is also extremely important to check if the account is the same on your devices. If not, then the notes are never synced. This is why iCloud was invented to combine gadgets into a single ecosystem. So make sure all devices are signed in to the same account.

Check if the firmware is up to date
If your iOS version or macOS is out of date, it is possible that iCloud may have problems. Please update the system to make it work properly.

On an iOS device, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. For Mac computers should go to App Store and go to the "Updates" item.

Sign out of your account iCloud records and login again
iCloud is not a stronghold of stability, so if you encounter errors, you can try logging out and logging into your account. For starters, it's worth trying to do this on one device. If the error persists, then you need to do this operation on all devices.

Make sure note sync is turned on
It is also possible that you are signed in to iCloud, but note syncing is disabled. To check, you need to go to "Settings" -> "iCloud" and turn on the appropriate toggle switch. If everything is turned on, but the notes are still not working, you need to turn off and reactivate the sync of notes.

Reboot all devices
It is also worth trying to reboot all devices. For iOS devices, you need to hold down the power button, then slide the slider from left to right. For Mac computers, click on the apple icon and then select restart. Such an operation can start iCloud syncing.

Maybe Apple has a problem?
It happens that Apple itself has problems on the servers. Some systems, including notes, do not work due to crashes. At such moments, there is nothing more to do than wait for the restoration of performance. Unfortunately, we cannot influence this in any way. On the other hand, you can go to the official web page and see if everything is in order with the Apple servers.

With the release of iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, users have received a number of useful features, but the biggest excitement was the Handoff feature. The technology works on smartphones, tablets and Apple computers, automatically transferring data about user actions from one device to another.

Handoff is an almost inseparable life with iDevices. When your iPhone or iPad on iOS 8 is next to your Mac, it lets you start on one Apple device and finish on another. Data sync with OS X Yosemite is done entirely in automatic mode... For example, you can open a web page or map on your smartphone and continue browsing from the same place on your Mac. Or, for example, transfer a letter from iPhone to laptop in order to quickly finish it on a device with a comfortable keyboard. You can even make and receive calls directly from your iPad or Mac if your iPhone is in the same Wi-Fi networks.

In order to start working with Handoff, you need to log in on all devices under one account.

How to enable Handoff in OS X Yosemite:

Step 1: First of all, make sure your Mac with OS X Yosemite supports Handoff. The technology does not work on all computers. Handoff requires a wireless Bluetooth module 4.0 / LE, which was first released on the Mac in mid-2011.

Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac -> Overview -> System Report -> Bluetooth. The line opposite "LMP version" should read "0x6".

Step 2: Open System Preferences -> Bluetooth. If wireless module off, turn it on.

Step 3: Go to the General menu. Check the box below next to "Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices."

How to enable Handoff in iOS 8:

Step 1: On your iOS 8 mobile device, go to Settings and turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Step 2: Go to the section General -> "Handoff and suggested software" and enable Handoff.

Make sure your iPhone and iPad are on the same wireless network as your Mac.

How to get started on Mac and continue on iPhone or iPad

To send data from Mac to mobile device, open one of the native programs on your computer - Safari, Mail, Calendar, Maps, iWork, Notes, and others. The active application icon will appear on the lock screen of your iOS device. Swipe up to continue working.

Opened Safari on Mac:

Safari icon on iPad lock screen:

You can also continue working with the application on the iPhone or iPad from the multitasking panel by swiping to the right from the main page.

Safari in the iPad Multitasking Bar:

How to get started on iPhone or iPad and continue on Mac

Once you start working on your smartphone or tablet, you can continue working on your Mac. When you open a browser, Maps or mail on the gadget, you will see a new icon on the computer to the left of the dock panel. To continue working within Handoff, click on it.

Open Maps on iPad:

Maps icon on Mac:

If Handoff doesn't work

If you have done all of the above, but Handoff does not work, the first thing to do is to turn off and then turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your computer and iDevice. In some cases, reconnecting to the same Wi-Fi wireless network helps. Finally, you can repeat the login procedure under one account. To do this, in iOS 8 you need to go to Settings -> iCloud, and in OS X Yosemite - System Preferences -> iCloud. As a rule, this leads to the desired result.

I like to take pictures with using iPhone, but even more often you have to take screenshots of applications. Apple offers several ways on how to transfer images from iPhone to Mac. Alas, too much manual labor - in most cases, you either need to connect your iPhone to your computer or launch iPhoto.

However, there is an easier way, in some ways even more convenient.

The main thing I want to achieve is to get the photos automatically on the Mac. I took a screenshot - the image is already in the computer. To do this, first of all, we turn on the photo stream on all devices that we use. For iPhone and iPad, for this you need to go to the "Photos" section in the System Settings. On Mac - System Preferences - iCloud - Photo Stream.

Now in Finder, on the menu bar, choose Go - Go to Folder:

~ / Library / Application Support / iLifeAssetManagement / assets / sub /

Your photos will appear in the sub folder. In the search bar (upper right corner), type "and".

In the drop-down list, click on "Type: Image".

Please note that the search should not be conducted over the entire computer ("This Mac"), but within a specific sub folder. Now there are two things left to do - click the "Save" button and add the saved search to the Finder sidebar.

This way you will have fast access to photos and screenshots taken on iPhone and iPad. I like this solution because I don't need to launch iPhoto to copy images for editing in Pixelmator.
