Reboot Windows without a disk. A quick way to install Windows without a disk and a USB flash drive. Preparing the operating system

In this article, you will learn how to properly install Windows 7 on your computer or laptop. In addition, I will tell you how to prepare for this process so that everything goes without negative consequences. Follow all the steps, be careful and you will succeed.

Before you properly install Windows 7, you need to make sure that everything is ready for this. There are four requirements to be met:

  1. You must have a reliable installation disk with Windows 7 or a bootable USB flash drive with it.
  2. Make sure that the local drive where the system will be installed does not contain any important files that you need. This disk will be formatted and all data will be deleted.
  3. Make sure you have the required device drivers at your disposal, or before installing Windows 7,.
  4. Make sure you have setup files for all the programs you need. They will need to be installed after successful installation of the system.

How to install Windows 7 correctly

Installation is divided into three stages:

Let's take a look at each of these steps.

BIOS setup

Before installing Windows 7 correctly, you need to understand that a disk or flash drive with the distribution kit is not enough. It is also necessary to configure the computer to boot from this particular disk (or from a USB flash drive), and not from a hard disk. By default, most computers are configured to boot from the hard drive.

There are many BIOS versions, and the configuration of the boot order of devices is different everywhere. You can find out how popular BIOS version to boot from external media.

Start installation

Finally we got to the Windows installation. When the BIOS is configured to boot from the required device, connect that very device (that is, a disk or flash drive) and restart the computer. The removable media should start loading.

If you are installing the original Windows, then the message "Press any key to boot from CD ..." will appear before booting. While it is on, you must press any key to start the installation. If you do not have time, the normal boot from the hard disk will start. If you are installing some Windows assembly, then such an inscription may not appear. Instead, there may be a menu where you need to select the installation of Windows 7.

Installation begins. The first step is to select a variety of language options and then click "Next".

Choose language

After that, a window appears. Click Install.

Start installation

Before installing Windows 7 correctly, you need to choose which version you will install. This is done in this step. Select the desired OS version from the list. Also, the bit capacity of the system is determined here. After choosing a version, you need to click "Next".

At this stage of the installation, you will have a utility at your disposal with which you can operate the hard disk partitions. So, using the buttons, you can delete, create and expand sections, as well as format them.

Click "Settings"

Select (or create) the partition where Windows will be installed and click the "Format" button. A warning will appear that now everything will be removed from this section - we boldly agree, because we have prepared for the installation, and have saved everything we need in a different place.

Format the disk

After formatting is complete, click the "Next" button.

And wait for the process to complete. This can take a long time.

Wait for the installation to complete

Completing Windows installation

When everything you need is copied and unpacked, Windows 7 will prompt you to enter names for the user and computer. Enter this information and click Next.

Enter your username and computer name

Now you can create a password if needed. You can leave all fields blank and click Next.

This article describes how to install or reinstall Windows 7.

Before starting the installation, you need to complete a few preparatory steps. At the beginning of the article, we have placed detailed content so that you can quickly view the entire sequence of actions and go to the necessary part of the instruction.

If you are interested in a specific issue (for example, errors during installation, how to enter and configure the BIOS, etc.), the links in the content will allow you to jump directly to it.

If you are a beginner, then just follow the guide from start to finish: each point is described in as much detail as possible and includes links to help instructions.

What should be done before starting the installation

Review the list below to verify that your computer and system are ready to install or reinstall Windows 7 and take the necessary steps to complete the preparation.

What are the types of installation, how to keep personal files and programs

There are two types of installation:
  • Complete reinstallation operating system(OS) when the partition is completely erased hard disk(or the entire disk), including all your programs, documents and files.
  • An OS update that updates only system files.
Updating the OS has several disadvantages. Therefore, it is recommended to perform a complete reinstallation of the system, and for this you will need to save all personal files and program settings.

If you have not done so already, read the article on preparing for installation, from which you will learn:

  • how to save all important personal data;
  • what programs will be needed immediately after installation and where to download them;
  • can i copy installed drivers where to find drivers after installation;
  • analysis of some special cases;
Save all data and proceed to the next step.

How to legally download an original Windows 7 x64 or x32 image for free.

Download original image you can legally using the program Windows ISO Downloader: the Windows image file will be uploaded with Microsoft official website.

Program file Windows ISO Downloader with version 5.21 (dated September 20, 2017) attached to the article (to the right of this text).
How to download the image correctly is shown in the figure below:

Please select Windows partition 7, then the desired version of the Windows 7 image and the "Confirm" button.

Attention!
We strongly do not recommend use assemblies of Windows 7 - use only original system images.

Microsoft has several aircraft hangars of various equipment designed to test the operation of the operating system on various combinations of devices. Therefore, the official OS image works correctly for the vast majority of users.

The authors of assemblies do not have such opportunities for testing, so a certain percentage of users will have problems during the operation of the assembly, which can only be solved by a complete reinstallation of Windows.

Which version of the image to choose: 32 bit or 64 bit

Everything is very simple: a 64-bit OS is needed in two cases: so that the computer can "see" 4GB or more random access memory and so that you can work with "heavy" programs or games. Attention!
Some new programs and games may not run on 32 bit Windows.
Conclusions:

  • If the amount of RAM is 4GB or more, feel free to choose x64 (64 bits).
  • If the computer is old and complex programs (for example, audio and video editors, design systems, multimedia packages) are not used, choose x32 (32 bits).
More detailed information the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems is presented in this article.

The easiest way to see how much RAM you have is to right-click on the icon "My computer" → select item "Properties" v context menu.

In the window that opens, the amount of RAM will be indicated, as well as the bit capacity of the system currently installed.

Which version of Windows 7 should I choose: Home, Professional, or Ultimate?

There are different versions (editions) of Windows 7, some of which are very different in functionality... More about Windows versions can be read.

Most often, when installing, they choose between the versions " Professional " and " Ultimate ».
The best choice in terms of the version of the image would be « Windows 7 Professional » .
But don't worry if you have a different edition of Windows - the installation process will be the same.
In the edition “ Professional " Unlike Ultimate there are not a number of services that most users will never use.
You probably haven't even heard of their names: DirectAccess, Unix Application Launcher, BranchCache, BitLocker, etc. Accordingly, hard disk space version « Professional » will take less.

How to burn an image to a DVD or a USB flash drive correctly?

If you have already recorded the image and the installation from it proceeded normally, then you can immediately proceed to the next chapter. If you do not know with what programs you can write an image to a disk or a USB flash drive, then the following auxiliary articles will help you: Please note that installing from a USB flash drive is more reliable and also faster. If you have a 4GB or more flash drive available, then it is better to install from it.

Windows reinstallation process.

So, preparation for installation is complete: all personal data has been saved, the media with the operating system distribution kit has been created, and a partition has been prepared on which the image will be installed.

Setting Boot Device Priority in BIOS

  1. Restart your computer and enter BIOS.
    • on personal computers most often the buttons are used to enter the BIOS « DELETE» (« Del»), « F2 ","F1", "Esc»
    • on laptops - keys « Feight", "Fnine", "F12", "Esc»
  2. After going to the BIOS, you need to find the menu section responsible for installing devices to boot the OS.
The section can be in different places (depending on the type motherboard and BIOS version), so you need to find the menu « FIRST BOOT DEVICE », « BOOT » or « BOOT DEVICE ».
  1. You need to go to this section of the menu and install the drive in the first place DVD or HDD disk(your Flash drive) depending on what media the image is recorded on.
  2. After that, you need to exit the BIOS, saving the changes.
Most often, to save changes before exiting, you need to press the key « F ten" and then confirm saving by pressing « Y » or by selecting the item « Yes » in the dialog box.
If you are having difficulty logging into BIOS, saving changes, or finding boot device priority settings, then read the article on setting parameters in the BIOS.

In the article you will find instructions with examples:

  • how to enter BIOS or UEFI with examples of different BIOS screens.
  • how to find an option BOOT DEVICA PRIORITY.
  • See a table with a list of keys for entering BIOS on laptops from different manufacturers.

Autostart Windows installation from DVD or USB flash drive

If you did everything correctly, then after restarting your computer, you will see the following:

  • if you are using DVD media, you will see the inscription "Press any key for load from CD ..." (press any key to boot from CD). You must immediately press any key, since after a short amount of time (about 10 seconds), the download will start from the next device installed in the BIOS to boot.
  • if you used a flash drive, the installation will start immediately
Remember!
When installing an operating system, you must be careful and careful with functions that you do not fully understand the meaning of.
The site administration is not responsible for the result of your actions.

Start installation

Attention!
Your computer may have gray and blue USB connectors. If you install the OS from a USB flash drive, be sure to plug the USB flash drive into the slot USB2.0 (gray) otherwise the installer may not see it.
The fact that the installer of the operating system has started work, you can judge by the line that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Selecting the installation type

  • A system update will allow you to reinstall Windows over your existing operating system.
  • Complete installation will allow you to select an existing partition for installation or re-partition the hard disk. The system will be installed cleanly, so this option is more acceptable (we wrote in more detail about the types of installation at the beginning of the article).

Figure 5. Selecting the type of operating system installation.
We choose "Full installation (additional parameters)", as shown in Figure 5.

Figure 6. Choosing hard disk for further installation Windows 7.

Hard disk partitions for system installation

After proceeding to the full installation, we will be presented with a list hard drives where you can create or select partitions to install. At this step, there may be several options for the development of events.

  • You have only one in your system HDD.
  • You have a separate hard drive (possibly an SSD) where the operating system will be installed and separate drives for storing data.
  • The installer does not see the hard drive or other errors occur (below are links to articles that walk through these issues step by step)
Attention!
If you have multiple hard drives, transfer all important data to the drive where your personal files will be stored, and unplug it to avoid accidentally confusing drives when partitioning or formatting.
If you have only one hard drive (or SSD), then it is advisable to split it into parts (if the disk space allows it).

The disk must be divided into parts so that at least 50GB is allocated for the system, perhaps even more, because for normal Windows work 7 it is desirable that the system partition has at least 15-20% free space.
The disk is partitioned to make it easier to reinstall the operating system in the future.

For example, you only have 1 hard drive in your computer with a capacity of 500GB.

You split it into 2 parts: 120GB (disk " C: ") and 380GB (Disk " D)

Now on disk « D you store music, movies, photos, program installers, folders with drivers, games, etc., and on disk « C you install programs to work.

Files from the "Desktop" and "My Documents" folders are also stored on disk « C:». When in the future you want to reinstall Windows, you just need to transfer (copy) all important files from the desktop and other folders on the disk. « C to disk « D, then perform a full reinstallation with disk formatting « C.
If the disk is not divided into partitions, then you will have nowhere to transfer data from the disk. « C:», and you won't be able to format it.

Partitioning the disk

In this step, you can create partitions on your hard drive if:

  • the hard disk is not partitioned (new or all partitions were previously deleted);
  • there are no important files on the hard disk and all information can be deleted.
New tough the disk is immediately displayed as a single partition and is labeled as "unpartitioned" (see Figure 6).
If you are going to repartition the disk (and all important files have already been transferred from it), then you need:
  1. Sequentially delete all partitions of your disk using the button "delete" . Attention! All files on these sections will be deleted!
  2. Select the unallocated partition that appears, click the button "Create" (see Figure 6).
  3. Specify the size first for the system partition (which will be the disk « C ) then create a partition for the disk « D (and other disks, if necessary).
If the disk has not been allocated, the OS installer will additionally create a 100MB partition to store special system files.

Selecting a partition to install

If partitions on the disk were created earlier:

  1. Select the system partition (on which the OS was previously installed).
  2. Click on the button "Format".
  3. After formatting, select the cleared partition and click on the button "Further".
If the installer does not see the hard drive, requires a device driver, or has other problems, then search and fix your error using these two articles:
  • Analysis of various types of errors during the installation of Windows 7 (including by codes).
  • What to do if the installer does not see the device (drive, hard drive, keyboard or mouse, etc.).
In Figure 6, you can see a 35GB unpartitioned disk.

Figure 7. Creating a partition on a hard disk
In our case, no section has been created yet, so you need to click on the button "Create" (Figure 7), then indicate the volume of the section to be created (Figure 8) and click on the button Apply .

Figure 9. Window for confirmation of partition creation
After that, the operating system installer will inform you that an additional partition will be created to store system files:

The process of copying files will take 15-30 minutes and will not require any action from you.

After the files have been copied and unpacked, the computer will restart.

At this point, you must remove the DVD or Flash drive from your computer, as the installation will continue from the hard drive where you copied the required files.

After rebooting, you will see a window with the completion of the installation.

The completion process will take a few minutes, after which the initial configuration of the operating system starts.

Completing Windows Setup and Initial Configuration

When the setup process is over, you will be prompted for a username to create your account, as well as the name of the computer for subsequent network identification (under this name, your computer will be visible in local Windows networks).

Next, you will be prompted for a password and a password hint. If you want to protect access to your account with a password, then enter it. Or you can skip this step by clicking the button "Further" .

With prolonged use of a computer, any user sooner or later is puzzled by the fact that the system is cluttered, residual files do not want to voluntarily leave, and the laptop is loaded with the speed of a wounded snail. Also, some viruses, although they are treatable at first glance, still leave their tiny trail. In the future, it grows exponentially and affects the entire system completely. Therefore, the user begins to ask the pressing question: "How to reinstall the Windows 7 system?"

Of course, to solve these problems, you can use the services of plug-ins or start using a new antivirus, but such a solution will be temporary, and in a few weeks the situation will not only repeat itself, but also worsen. In addition, sometimes the computer simply leaves no choice, threateningly greeting the "blue screen of death" with farewell instructions.

Reinstalling the operating system in a specialized salon costs a lot, so today we will save a couple of thousand and learn how to reinstall the OS on our own. But before reinstalling Windows 7, there are a few things to do.

Preparing and saving data

How do I reinstall Windows 7 correctly? In order to protect yourself from the loss of important files after reinstalling the system, it is worth spending a little time and saving to a USB flash drive or disk those documents that you may need in the future.

For example, not everyone wants to lose the achieved result in their favorite game. You just need to find and save one small file, which is located in the AppData folder of the user. If a folder with this name is not displayed, you need to go to "Computer" - "Local drive" - "Users" - "your name" and there click on "Organize", then select the folder and search parameters in the drop-down menu.

And put the marker on "Show hidden folders and files ".

How to save favorites and links from the browser

  • For Mozilla browser Firefox will need to go to Local Drive - Users - Username - Favorites and save the entire folder.
  • To save Google data Chrome go to "Local Disk" - "Users" - "Username" - "AppData" - "Local" - "Google" - "Chrome" and save the User Data folder.
  • For Internet Explorer it is enough to save the "Favorites" folder located in "Local disk" - "Users" - "Username".
  • When working with Opera, we follow the known path to the AppData folder and then Opera, you only need to save the bookmarks.adr file.

Save torrent files

To save torrent files, go to AppData, find the uTorrent folder there and copy it completely. After reinstalling the system, the saved folder must be placed in the same location. This also applies to saved games and bookmarks in browsers.

When all the necessary data, photos and other necessities have been successfully saved, we begin to reinstall the OS to the drum roll.

How to properly reinstall Windows 7

If there is a disc with the operating system available, then we insert it into the drive, after which the automatic reinstallation of the OS should begin, although in 60% of cases this does not happen. What to do in such a situation in order to understand how to reinstall Windows 7? "BIOS" is a mystical word, hearing which, many begin to get nervous. In fact, there is nothing wrong with the BIOS if you do not touch anything superfluous (and in this case, all parameters can be restored). In order to get to your destination, you need:

  • restart the computer;
  • Press the del key 2-3 times before windows screensaver... If the transition to the BIOS did not happen, just repeat the procedure again.

So, if everything is done correctly, the following image should appear before your eyes:

Next, find the First Boot Device and set the value to the CD-ROM. This means that when the computer starts up, it will automatically load data from the disk first. After installing the software, it is very important not to forget to return everything as it was, or the computer will always install the system (if you also forgot to remove the disk).

Press f10 to save changes. If all the conditions have been met, then the reinstallation of the system will begin.

The next window prompts us to select a language, date and set the time. We expose simple parameters, and boldly press "next", "install" and accept the license agreement.

type of instalation

  • Upgrade is only suitable if the system is being reinstalled for minor reasons. If the decision was made in connection with the "screen of death" or the computer is clearly sat down malware, definitely opting for a full install.
  • Full installation (custom) - reinstalls the OS literally from scratch, mercilessly destroying everything that can harm it.

Disk configuration

Here you have to choose which disk will appear as local, that is, the one on which the software will be installed.

Logically speaking, the volume of the system disk should be within 35 GB, but not less. It should be borne in mind that many of us like to save files on the principle of "throw it to the desktop for now, so as not to forget." All documents, pictures, etc. that are located on the desktop are stored exactly on system disk as well as files from the Downloads folder. Thus, when calculating the size of the local disk, you should be more generous.

We press "Next" and go to have a snack, we have at least 45 minutes. During installation, the computer will reboot several times, which will kindly warn you. It is not worth hindering him in this, unless unforeseen situations occur in the process, after 45-50 minutes the new Windows 7 will be successfully installed.

The next step is username and computer name. If at some point you need to change these settings, then this is done simply: "Start" - right-click on "Computer" - "Properties". Find "Computer name, domain name and parameters working group"And there we press" Change parameters ".

It is not necessary to set a password, so you can skip this item by clicking "Next".

You will also need to enter your product key. You can find it on the bottom of the laptop or on a special sticker on system unit(in the event that you purchased the equipment together with a licensed disc).

If the software was installed from another disk, then the key must be indicated on the box. Well, if the system was installed illegally, you can skip this point and forget about this issue for about a month. After 30 days, the beautiful picture on the desktop will change to a black screen, and some functions and devices may turn off. If this does not bother you, then you can safely work with the system further or be puzzled by the search for a suitable key in the Internet.

When choosing the type of update installation, it is best to use the recommended settings. If the system does not automatically update, then sooner or later minor problems may arise in the work with the most frequently used programs. The update fixes minor bugs and optimizes the OS.

How to reinstall Windows 7 without a disk or from a USB flash drive

Sometimes it happens that there is no disk with "Windows", or the CD-ROM has gone blind and categorically refuses to cooperate. Do not despair, there are no hopeless situations. There are several ways to install the system using other media. For example, you can reinstall Windows 7 from a USB stick.

Reinstalling the system using a USB flash drive

First, download the OS image to your computer. After that, install the Ultra Iso program or you can use Daemon tools, the algorithm is approximately the same.

Next, we take a USB flash drive or memory card, but you should immediately notice that the BIOS will not see any of the drives installed through the USB-3 connector, so be careful and use USB-2. Externally, the connectors do not differ, in some devices USB-3 is marked in blue. If there is no identification mark, then everything is simple. We find in any search engine information about the characteristics of a laptop or computer, and further - information on which side the connectors we need are installed on.

In order to prepare a USB flash drive for further work, it must be formatted, even if there is nothing on it. Then we perform the following actions:

  • In UltraIso, open windows image 7, which we have already downloaded ("File" - "Open" - select the image of the program).
  • Find "Self-upload" in the top menu and select "Burn hard disk image".
  • In the window that opens, indicate a formatted USB flash drive.
  • We confirm the check, and set the recording method to USB-HDD +.
  • We press "Write".
  • We agree with the fact that all files will be erased from the flash drive (even though we formatted it, we still put "Yes").
  • Voila! If we see "Recording completed", then the job is done, and you can start reinstalling.
  • We go to the BIOS in the known way, described above, and in the First Boot Device select the recorded USB flash drive.

Reinstall Windows 7 using a DVD image

Another method will tell you how to reinstall Windows 7 via CD-ROM without a licensed disc.

Why DVD? Everything is elementary, a regular CD will not work for the only simple reason - there is not enough volume, and the OS image "weighs" about 3 GB.

If for these purposes you decide to use a DVD that already has something, then, as in the situation with a flash drive, you need to resort to formatting.

Now we open the already known UltraIso program, go to "File" - "Open" and find the downloaded image of "Windows".

Then go to the "Tools" menu and click "Burn CD Image", in the window that appears, set a check mark to "Check", dutifully agree with the fact that everything on the disk will be destroyed and click "Burn".

That's all, after the message "Burning completed" appears, our disk is ready. We think everyone has already guessed what to do next. That's right: go to BIOS and select the burned disk as First Boot Device.

How to go back from Windows 7 to XP

Sometimes users find it difficult to master a new system, so some find it easier to reinstall Windows 7 on XP. The installation procedure is not much different from the one described earlier, with the exception of a few points:

  1. After proceeding to the installation, the system prompts you to choose which partition (that is, on which disk) the OS will be installed. In order to root out the previously installed Windows 7, you need to select the appropriate section. After that, there will be 4 formatting options to choose from, the only correct one of which is "Format partition in NTFS". After that, the computer usually restarts and starts the system installation.
  2. If you have a keen desire to install two operating systems at once on one computer or laptop, then, on the contrary, select the partition that is not occupied by system files. This is usually the D drive.

Reinstall Windows 8 on 7

Despite the fact that the majority of users rated the seventh version positively software from Microsoft, the G8 has received rather contradictory responses. Because newest version is fundamentally different from all the previous ones, then sometimes there is a desire to replace the OS.

In order to reinstall Windows 8 on 7, you need to go into the BIOS and set the primary priority on the CD-ROM (how to do this was described earlier).

After that, we save the changes and proceed to boot from disk or from another media. The installation type when changing from Windows 8 to 7 can only be " New installation", Because the OS is different, there is no need to talk about any updates.

It is also necessary to delete all sections, including hidden ones. After that, no longer thinking about how to reinstall Windows computer 7, do the rest:

  • specify the time, date and keyboard layout;
  • agree to the terms, indicate the username and computer name;
  • enter the key, etc.

After installation (drivers)

As a rule, reinstalling Windows 7 on a laptop or computer is quite easy, but after the OS replacement process, many users have a number of questions. For example:

  • Why after installation new system has the image quality deteriorated? "
  • "Why can't a computer or laptop see the USB flash drive?"
  • "Why has the sound deteriorated?" etc.

All this happens most often when the reinstallation was carried out by downloading the OS or buying a disc from hand (you don't have to think about how to reinstall a Windows 7 computer, but some "jambs" still pop up). In order to solve a number of such problems, it is enough to download the drivers from the manufacturer's official website. Or pay attention to the drivers before reinstalling the system.

Let's take an example. Let's say, before reinstalling Asus Windows 7, the user was not puzzled by the question of saving data from his laptop, or he simply did not have the opportunity to do it. How to be?

Everything is simple, just type in the search engine the model (the manufacturer's company is enough) of the device and add the coveted phrase "Download drivers from the official site". Then go to the manufacturer's website link and indicate the complete laptop model in the appropriate form. Next, you have to download all the presented drivers one by one and install them on the laptop one by one. There is no tricky part of the installation, as the drivers install themselves where they should.

If, for one reason or another, the drivers have gone wild and installed in the wrong place, you can go to the device manager and forcibly update them.

In order to get into the remote control, you can simply type "Device Manager" in search bar that pops up when you press "Start". Then right-click on the driver marked with an exclamation mark. And we select "Update drivers", in a new window it remains only to indicate that the required files need to be searched for on the computer itself and indicate the place where they were installed.

If all drivers are installed properly in Device Manager, the image will improve and the screen resolution will increase to the required level.

Finally

The computer can "fly" at any time, so you should think about organizing a backup storage of high-value files before reinstalling Windows 7. This way you can save a lot of time after installing the system, because it is quite possible that even the most basic programs ( Word, etc.) will have to be searched and installed again.

Reinstalling Windows 7 on a laptop or computer is not difficult; even a novice user can cope with this task. The main thing is to approach the issue responsibly and spend an hour to save all the useful information from the computer even before reinstalling the OS.

In this article, you will learn how to reinstall Windows 7 on your own. The material is designed for users who will install Windows on a computer or laptop for the first time. As scary as it sounds, reinstalling Windows is very simple. In Windows times 95 and 98 to an inexperienced person, the procedure for reinstalling the operating system could seem like a mystical rite. The person who was invited to do this was definitely called a programmer, and was considered a guru in the computer field.

For their part, such gurus, filling their own worth, in every possible way intimidated their clients with terrible computer terms and stories about viruses and burned out computers. V this manual you will make sure that this is not at all the case and that installing or reinstalling Windows on your laptop or computer is very simple and accessible to almost anyone who knows how to use a computer mouse.

I will make a small reservation. This article will show you how to install Windows 7 yourself using DVD disc a. If your computer or laptop does not DVD drive Then you will need to install Windows with USB stick or from a memory card, I will talk about this in another lesson.

Before proceeding with reinstalling Windows, read the entire article to the end, and if you have a printer, then print it.

Reinstall Windows 7 consists of several stages:

  1. Preparing your computer for installing Windows 7;
  2. Preparing an installation disk with Windows 7;
  3. Customization Computer BIOS to boot from DVD;
  4. Installing Windows 7;

Now let's go through all the stages in detail.

1. Preparing to install Windows 7

Before reinstalling Windows, you need to do a little preparation.

First, you need to copy all the valuable information from the C drive. Of course, you know better, but still I will tell you where to look. Places where on the "C:" drive your useful information not so much, usually the desktop and "My Documents". It is also worth looking into the root of the "C:" drive; sometimes people, in a hurry or simply out of ignorance, save files there. Copy all the files you need to another disc (for example, “D:”), DVD disc or to a USB flash drive.

For the future, keep in mind that it is best to store information on a different partition of the disk where the system is installed, and, of course, create backups.

If you have just purchased a computer or are sure that there is no valuable information in it, then naturally you can not bother

Another point that should be considered before installing Windows is drivers for network card... If after installation it turns out that your Windows distribution did not have drivers for your network card, or for some reason they did not install correctly, then you will find yourself without drivers and without the Internet. Therefore, download the latest drivers in advance, at least for the network card.

2. Preparing the installation disk with Windows 7

For those who already have a Windows 7 installation disc, you can skip this step. If you do not have such a disc, then you need to record it or purchase it. Those who want to download Windows on the Internet, look for clean MSDN builds.

This will protect yourself from possible errors in the installed system.

Installation discs for Windows 7 on the Internet are usually distributed in the form of disc images in the ".iso" format. I will not say where to download it. contributing to their distribution is not entirely legal. I can advise, before downloading the image, read the release comments, problem disks are usually quickly identified in the form of a bunch of angry reviews.

At this stage, it is worth deciding which version of Windows 7 to install on your computer, 32-bit or 64-bit. I will not go into details, since a separate article can be written on this topic. I will only say that a 64-bit system can work with all the RAM, while a 32-bit maximum uses only about 3.25 GB. At the same time, a 64-bit system, thanks to 64-bit address pointers, requires more memory during operation. This increases the amount of memory used by applications.

Also, in favor of a 64-bit system, it is worth considering that when using 64-bit applications, there will be a fairly good increase in their performance.

Conclusion: a 64-bit system should be used if the amount of RAM in your computer is 4 or more gigabytes, which, in principle, is already becoming the norm for a modern computer.

After the image has been downloaded, you need to burn it to a DVD disc, and you can proceed with the installation.

3. Configuring the computer BIOS to boot from DVD

For windows installation, it's not enough just to insert a DVD disc into the drive, you still need to make sure that the computer starts to boot from this disc when it is turned on. This is done in the BIOS. There is a BIOS in almost any computer or laptop, it stores all sorts of important settings, one of these settings is the boot order of devices. This setting is of interest to us at the moment.

In order to get into the BIOS, you need to press a certain key on the keyboard immediately when you turn on the computer. Usually, when booting, the screen says what exactly you need to press to get into the BIOS menu. Most often it is the Delete, Esc, or F2 key. You will know what you have entered by seeing the BIOS menu in front of you.

The most common options are:

If the attempt is unsuccessful, then restart your computer and try again. Below are tables with possible options enter BIOS.

After you have entered the BIOS, you need to find the option responsible for the boot order of devices. As a rule, you need to look for these settings in the menu, the name of which contains the word BOOT, of course there are other options, but as they say - "Who is looking for, will always find".

To make it easier to find, I will give a few examples of how it looks live:

The choice of the device to be loaded first usually occurs using the arrow keys on the keyboard, but there are other ways to navigate the BIOS menu, so if you can't figure it out, you can see the help, which is usually in the BIOS in plain sight.

Select your CD / DVD drive as the first boot device and exit BIOS with all changes saved. To do this, use the Save and Exit Setup item. The computer will restart and we, thus, got to the next stage, for the sake of which, in fact, everything was started.

4 Installing Windows 7

If the disc is recorded correctly and the BIOS settings are set correctly, we will see in front of us such an inscription Press any key to boot from CD or DVD, which means Press any key to boot from CD or DVD.

It looks like this:

Press any key

If you do not have such an inscription, then perhaps you did something of the above written wrong. In this case, check the BIOS again to see if the setting for booting from DVD has been preserved, if everything is installed correctly in the BIOS, then most likely your disk is not bootable and you will have to look for another installation disk or download another Windows 7 image.

At this point I will make a small reservation. You may come across an installation Windows disk 7, on which, in addition to the Windows itself, are also recorded additional utilities, in this case, to start the installation, you need to select the desired item in the menu of your disk. It is also worth noting that on some discs, most of the operations described below will be performed automatically, without your participation. Do not worry about this, all these settings can be changed, if desired, after the installation of Windows is complete.

To start installation, click "Install"

You will be presented with a choice of which version of Windows to install. You need to choose the one from which you have the key. If you have a laptop, often a sticker with a key and an indication of the Windows version is glued to the bottom. We need the key itself at the end of the installation. In principle, it will not be possible to enter it immediately, but within 30 days.

We agree with the terms of the license and click "Next"

We choose a complete installation.

Select the partition where Windows 7 will be installed and click "Disk Setup"

In this place, an inexperienced person may have questions, so we will consider it in more detail.

Hard disk setup

Often on your computer's hard drive, besides the partitions you know about (such as C: D: E: etc.), there may be one or more hidden partitions. This is especially true for laptops that were sold with an already installed operating system. The manufacturer makes such partitions in order to be able to restore the system and bring the laptop to its factory settings.

Also common hidden section size 100MB, it is created by Windows 7. This section is used to implement the BitLocker function, this function is designed to encrypt the system partition. So in this section there is a program that decodes the encrypted system partition when loaded. If you wish, you can get rid of this section by preparing your computer's hard drive for installing Windows 7. for this it is best to use special programs, for example Acronis Disc Director.

Let's go back to the installation.

Click "Disk Setup" and "Format"

The installer will warn you that all data from this section will be deleted, but we are not afraid, because we were preparing for this and did it in advance backup all the information we need, so we boldly agree by clicking the "OK" button.

After the end of formatting, click "Next"

We are waiting for the installation to take place

After installation, you will be prompted to enter your username and computer name.

We enter the key, it can be glued to the laptop from the bottom, or as a sticker on the system unit.

Set security mode

Set date, time and time zone

If the computer has network connection and the system found a driver for your network card, Windows will prompt you to select a connection type

This completes the installation of Windows 7, and you can proceed to installing the drivers and the programs you need.

Finally, do not forget to return the BIOS settings that we changed in paragraph 3 our leadership. Must be set in BIOS first boot device your hard drive, otherwise your computer will try to boot from the DVD every time you start it.

The era of the popular operating room Windows systems XP (and below) is left behind. Although it has been a long time since the release of Windows 7, its popularity has not diminished in the least due to its ease of use and beautiful design... And it was released back in 2009, a few years after the release of a not-so-famous brother called Windows Vista.

I hope that the fact that the seventh part of this OS is better than its previous counterparts does not raise any questions for anyone ?! Now we will talk about installing Windows 7 (maximum), whether it is a distribution downloaded from the Internet, bought in a licensed Microsoft sales store, or ordered by mail.

The first thing to look out for is your computer's resources. If the specifications of your computer are lower than those stated in Windows requirements 7 - you shouldn't even try, because the operating system, if it is installed, will greatly slow down and act on your nerves. And iron problems are not excluded, which can deteriorate from overvoltage, etc.

Preparing to install Windows 7 Ultimate

Minimum system requirements are as follows:

  • x86 or x64 bit processor, with a frequency of more than 1 GHz;
  • if the installation is supposed to be on a 32-bit system (x86) - 1 gigabyte (hereinafter GB.) of random access (RAM) memory. For x64 systems - 2 GB. and more;
  • graphics card with DiectX 9 support. It is recommended (but not required) to support the first version of the WDDM driver. This is necessary to enable transparency (translucency) of windows and taskbar;
  • free space on the hard disk of the computer - from 15 GB. For x64 systems - from 20 GB.

If your computer is able to pull this "monster" on itself, feel free to proceed to the next step, where we will talk about creating and prepare a BIOS to boot from a DVD or flash drive.

Preparing for installation

If your BIOS supports booting from a USB flash drive, then create bootable USB drive(multiboot flash drive). This is done using the program (you can use any others), which is available on the network free of charge.

Or we can use the old but proven method - via DVD. The downloaded image of the Windows 7 Maximum operating system is written to optical media. For this we use the UltraISO program.

Launch UltraISO, press the button « Trial period …» to start in free mode.

We press right click mouse in the area where the type of media and the size of the data written to the disk are indicated, select the menu item Show Media Type and activate the DVD-disc inserted into the drive (see screenshot # 1).

Open the "Tools" menu, click Burn CD Image and the "Burn" button (see screenshot # 2)

We are waiting for the end of the disc recording and proceed to the next step, in which we will configure the BIOS.

BIOS setup

Leave the burned DVD in the drive.

We reboot the computer. We press repeatedly (until the BIOS settings window opens) the "Del" key (in some models of the motherboard F2 or F11) while turning on the computer, but before the operating system starts to load.

The BIOS settings window should open, where you need to select the "Boot" tab, go and open the "First" menu, select the "CD-Rom Drive" item and press the "F10" key on the keyboard to save and exit. After that, the process of rebooting the system should go.

ATTENTION! The location of items and the title of sections in your BIOS settings can be very different.

If everything was done correctly in the previous steps, a request / notification should appear that it is necessary to press the key to continue starting from the DVD drive. We press any key ...

We are waiting for the initialization of the Windows 7 installation files. We will be notified of this by the inscription and the download bar.

A window will open "Install Windows", where we select the language, time format and keyboard layout, which will be used by default. We press the button "Next". In the window that appears, click "Install" (see screenshot # 3).

We are waiting for the end of the process "Start installation", we agree to the license agreement by ticking the box next to the item "I accept the license terms" and click "Next".

A window will appear in which you need to select the type of system installation: update old windows up to Windows 7 Ultimate or use the Full installation... We select the last one, select the hard drive where our system will be installed and click the "Next" button.

The process of installing Windows should go (see screenshot # 4). We wait for it and restart the computer (don't worry, this will happen automatically). After rebooting, our Windows installation will come to the final stage. We are waiting for its end, after which the first (preliminary) start of the system will take place, where you will need to enter the username and click "Next". We follow the prompts on the screen by clicking "Next" until the working Windows table 7 Maximum.

The operating system installation phase has completed successfully. Congratulations and discover the new features of this product.
